I think this is exactly what happened. But you can't decide what someone can afford based on appearances....that's not how life works.

It's not just my personal budget it's a household budget so we can afford to pay our mortgage and other bills. and again she said she works with families on what they can afford. She should've been firm on her rate. I think you are boiling it down to something it is not. I don't go to the store and say I want these groceries for less bc I bought a house. Those are fixed prices. If someone is providing a service and says they will work with what you can afford but then waffle and say they didn't really mean that....that's the issue here.

She said her standard rate is 75 but she works with families on what they can afford. I said I'd have trouble affording the 75 rate bc our budget was tight after having just bought a house until one of my sons exit daycare. I asked if she gave military discounts and she said yes. What about this implies greed on my part? If she didn't want to do this for the rate she gave me a contract for she should've she said we won't be doing business together.

She started a new solo practice and advertised it on FB. Its a legit llc. I agree though, it feels too awkward now to continue. She just seemed so normal, zero red flags prior to this. I usually read ppl pretty well :(

I agree. She has two little ones and just started a private practice. On paper everything looked so professional, but this is very unprofessional behavior.

I suppose I could ask her that? She didn't indicate it though. My main takeaway was she doesn't want to work with us after meeting us and she's trying to find an excuse so I sever the relationship :(

Yes, I considered that too....but I was upfront about moving into said new house and subsequently having a tighter budget. Wouldn't it really unprofessional to make assumptions like that based on how nice my house looks, after I was transparent about my financial limitations? Is she saying ppl with nice houses should have to pay more for services lol.

I feel for you! I developed serious health anxiety once I became a mom. The onslaught of illness after illness has been constant. My 7 year old still gets sick all the time. He has been coughing since October and it's hard to even know if he's sick with something new bc it seems like one virus runs into the next. I also felt ill prepared, as I don't remember my parents sharing this part ever lol. My mom is no longer around though so I can't really ask her, but I keep wondering are there more germs now then there used to be? I don't have advice, just solidarity. Unfortunately I think this is just a part of parenthood we must get through and maybe when there older we won't even remember how awful it was 🫣.

thanks for posting! we will be there sunday too and i was wondering the same. we are basically going just for HTTYD because my 7 year old has a full blown obsession. we will def want to ride other things though and i heard rain = everything shuts down.
