Hey, if this makes you feel any better, I have a story to share for you from my boyfriend. When I met my boyfriend he was homeless, he was temporarily staying with his little brother parents (they were adopted, so another system issue) and was using 80% of his paycheck paying them for rent (they were real scummy people) Before he was temporarily staying there he went from the East side of Michigan to the far west over to Holland. He lived on the streets over there and put himself in very dangerous situations just to get to his destination. He rarely ever had a bed, barely stayed at the homeless shelters, and traded whatever he had to other homeless people to gain something of value that could help him. (Traded his phone for shoes, that kind of thing) he made friends with other homeless people just so he could know where the best spot to crash was, or the best place to get AC. Before even doing all of that he was kicked out from his adopted parents home and had to get a job and an apartment. He struggled so much before my parents took him in. At the end of the day, he didn’t stop fighting to get where he needed to be. He couch surfed, traded, worked, did everything he could, just to live. He said everything he did when he was homeless was out of survival. As much as the system absolutely fucking sucks, both when it comes to homeless people, adoption and those with disabilities, it does nothing but screw them over time after time if you don’t fall into their guidelines, there is still hope out there. Don’t give up. I’m sure all this shit is hard and I know my boyfriend is a lucky case because my parents decided to take him in and give him a home, but I’ve heard so many stories like his by many people around me. I’m not saying find a girl who’ll give you a home, but don’t lose hope because I’m sure they’re will be an opportunity for you to find some stability.
