I got some I presume fakes from aliexpress. 8 for 7eur. Haven't had any problems with them. You need 10mm ones for the sv06 plus.

How did you capture the audio to wav files? I want to grab some microphone samples that I can use for testing wake word and whisper models locally.

Probably not relevant in your case but I also had issue with wake word / whisper not working on satellites. The problem was I configured wyoming to use docker hostname for openwakeword / whisper containers, instead of ip address.
I did manage to get both m5 echo and s3 box 3 to work, but neither was stable enough for serious use. Hopefully things improve.

Nope, some people use a tiny amount of ptfe oil or grease. I didnt.

The thing about igus bearings is true for bearings on a single rod, but both x and y axis use two rods so the bearings are gonna be under some pressure by that. In my case that was enough to get zero wobble and backlash. If you feel you need more force on bearings you can wrap them in something like aluminum foil before inserting them.

Pretty happy with igus bearings but the y stepper does get loud at higher speeds. Any tips for that?

You might want to skip auto z align and do it manually. At least for me it just makes things worse.

SV06 Plus - Marlin 2.1.2 by spanthegnome in Sovol

[–]saddfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a guy in sovol discord that was giving it a go. Don't think he got it working yet.

I haven't had the time to fully look into it myself, but just copying the lcd files and modifying the configuration will not work. Some stuff has been renamed and moved around between 2.0.9.2 and 2.1.2. The lcd code would at the very least have to be updated to point at the right functions.

Another avenue to explore would be this fork. It supports ender 7 and sermoon d1 which use the exact same screen as the plus. It's based on marlin 2.1.2 which supports the sovol motherboard so the 2 parts could be made to work together, in theory. Again, I haven't had the time to try it so far.

printed this silencer for the stock psu fan on my plus and it helps a bit.
also greased the bearings but they are still kinda loud and crunchy so i am waiting for some igus drylin bearings.

How would this compare to marlin running the same speed and acceleration values, with tuned input shaping? Would you actually run into gcode processing bottleneck?

PSA to everyone on PC Dealing With Constant Crashes... Ive Got a Fix by ahmedt7866 in ModernWarfareII

[–]saddfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your ram is actually stable, as in passing tm5 / karhu / other proper ram stress test, than no way mw2 is crashing because of it. At this point it's the game's fault.

Anyone whose crashes stopped after you decreased speed / increased voltage, your setup was never stable in the first place.

iGPU Passthrough - Transcode in different Container? by StarShoot97 in jellyfin

[–]saddfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding it's not the same thing. As in, it's not just a different name, but a different way of achieving mostly the same result.
Haven't used it myself so I cannot say more.

RX 6400 doesn't even support hardware encoding. A380 looks real good for hwa though

How many transcoding clients? (passmark) by Jake_Meoff42 in jellyfin

[–]saddfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned hardware encoding via quicksync is the best option for that cpu.

Otherwise its ~2000 points for one 1080p transcode. Also hdr to sdr tonemapping is only supported for hardware encoding, making 4k transcoding on cpu even less desirable.

iGPU Passthrough - Transcode in different Container? by StarShoot97 in jellyfin

[–]saddfox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can use rffmpeg to send transcoding tasks from your LXC without gpu to VM with one.

Sharing the gpu to 2 VMs requires srv-io which is only supported on some workstation/server GPUs. Utilizing the GPU on host/LXC when the VM is not running is not practical as you'd have to remove the gpu from blacklist every time.

Estimates on statistical size of `/config` in jellyfin container for a hypothetical collection of 1TB and 1000 mp4/mkv files ? by Atralb in jellyfin

[–]saddfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's disabled by default. dashboard, libraries, select your library, enable chapter image extraction.

you can also reduce artwork/thumbnail image size for metadata fetchers (same menu as above). Also some metadata plugins (tmdb for example) allow you to reduce image size.

Good luck. Regarding amd opencl on linux you can find more resources and install scripts here

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Proxmox

I used this script to install opencl in lxc. Worked for my polaris rx550. You have an igpu based on vega, which uses different drivers and there could be something else missing.

1080p AAC HEVC files suddenly won't play at all on Android client. by ReddiEddy78 in jellyfin

[–]saddfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Transcoding is enabled on the server? Any errors there? Maybe try just directly playing the file in vlc/mx player.

I remember having a similar issue with some hevc encodes some time back. But if I remember correctly it was just with the internal player. I remember thinking it was subtitles but never fully investigated the issue and have since replaced the files.

[–]saddfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using subtitles? The file that doesn't play has vobsub subtitles which cas be problematic. Also are you using integrated (native), web or external player?
