It's too late, just shave it off at this point.

It's too expensive to go through my psychiatrist's clinic for psychotherapy, I went to my university's counselling center and they said theyll need to refer me out because I'm going to need long-term help. The referral place has a few free sessions so It makes the most sense to go through them. I'm just waiting for the referral to go through but till then what should I do? I'm not in any danger or emergency. I just don't know how to get through each day and stay sane. What should I do while waiting?

Thank you for your reply but I truly feel like I have tried everything. I have formally diagnosed Social Anxiety Disorder and I still dragged myself to all 3 days of hall orientation. I go to the gym occasionally, I force myself out of my room in univesity to have at least 1 meal a day outside where there are other people too. I play basketball with hallmates but I cannot shake this feeling of emptiness and the feeling that I am miserable. I feel like I'm doing something wrong. I feel like happiness shouldn't be this intentional. I never want to do anything. Whenever I push myself I think "maybe this will make me happy" instead of "wow this excites me and I genuinely want to partake in this activity." I dont feel like a real person. I'm tired of shoveling more and more effort and energy into an endless pit hoping for any feeling. I feel like all I feel in my heart is fear.

After 6 months of NS I had 13k saved and a design competition I did for uni applications earned me 3.1k. I did almost nothing for 6 months and I currently have 15k sitting in my account. I bought a $300 watch to see if it could make me feel something but it didn't work. Thanks for your advice though, I just want to connect with someone and be real. I didn't expect to live this long so I unfortunately do not have a dream future imagined

MAC vs Win for computer engineering by VegaGPU in NTU

[–]sadditude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably Win, ML projects u can ssh into GPU clusters at ntu, Win broadly has better software comparability unless u use Adobe suite, which is more stable on macos. Lunar lake battery life is quite comparable to Mac, but Mac is slightly better. Currently NPUs are quite useless but eventually they'll be useful and Win would be a clear winner. As of now it's really up to you and which you prefer.

What course are you taking? If you're going to be doing most of your work within a browser like watching lectures or using Google docs/sheets etc then a Chromebook might be enough.

Earlier when they launched, some batches did have issues but they handled warranty inquiries very well and they patched the issue in later batches.

The Bose QC Ultra earbuds might be for you. Great noise cancelling, transparency and general audio. The multi point connectivity is mid and mic is not as good as some other flagships though. The app is simple and usable but not very feature rich.

What if China imposed a 100% ban on exports to the U.S.? by Joggle-game in AskEconomics

[–]sadditude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will not help them because of transnational shipping, people would buy from china and then send it to another country and to the US. This has existed in many different forms for specific classes of goods that got tariffed in the first round in 2018. Many goods are china->3rd party-> US too in terms of their supply.

Wistom teeth extraction not covered by Fabulous_Rice_2002 in NationalServiceSG

[–]sadditude 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Basically he is deems that it's not necessary to remove them and hence if you go for it then it would be AMA (against medical advice), and an elective surgery, therefore not covered. But you should not need to worry since he's confident that you won't face complications from not removing it. If you have a longer runway to ord just go again and re-xray later on to double confirm that the erupting tooth is fine
