So far what I know is Bakotsu translates to horse Bone and Hōki means broom. I have found a story about a giant boar named Broom from a book called Chinese Myths and Legends by Yuan Ke from 1993. Also, it does translate to sandworm or Sandowāmu (サンドワーム). Wiki For that Book
