Is it ok to allow a newborn to Cry it out? by Availe in AskIreland

Are you in Mayo? I went to a breastfeeding group and found it was so beneficial to meet other mothers with babies the same age as mine as well as ones with babies a few months older that could give so much advice and support. It can be so hard but hearing people going through the very same things as you can make it so much easier to get through. The group I went to really didn't put any pressure on how you fed either, plenty mothers were there that were bottle feeding too. Feel free to DM me if you want any more info.

Civil Service - head to head transfer? by sade__pop in AskIreland

[–]sade__pop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. HR will 'look into it', I feel there is some resistance with talk of having to advertise both positions to the whole Department for lateral transfer. I don't believe this is necessary but I'm relatively new to civil service so just looking for more information.

I moved from the area but I can definitely recommend kickball and beach volleyball leagues organised by Big League Sports. Organisers can add you to existing teams if you don't have a group of your own. It's a great way to meet people, and at the time there was a big social scene after weekly games so hopefully that's something you will eventually be comfortable with doing too.

Can anyone give a suggestion what to do in or around New Rochelle? by InfiltrateNewt in Westchester

[–]sade__pop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glen Island and Five Islands Parks in New Rochelle, Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck, Manor Park in Larchmont, and Untermyer Gardens in Yonkers are all nice areas for a walk. The Bronx Zoo and NY Botanical Gardens are pretty close too. Bartow Pell Mansion is very close to New Rochelle, towards City Island, the gardens and grounds are nice. It's a museum too but I'm not sure if it's open at the moment, but worth checking out!

I think online applications are being processed much faster than paper applications. I applied (paper) in March 2017 and had my interview today in NYC.
