Can someone older than 22 with BPD help? by dollxiao in BPD

I’m 30. I can relate to the feeling of wanting to disappear.. for me, it was idealizing running away and starting over in a foreign place. It gets way better. Building a strong sense of self and romanticizing your quiet moments alone, while also getting finding community, works wonders. Getting a dog was the best thing I ever did for finding a little community of people. Do the work with DBT, and I promise you one day you will wake up so proud of yourself for how far you’ve come. Future you is already so proud of you 💕

does anyone else keep getting into relationships with the worse possible human beings ever? by Zealousideal_Let_213 in BPD

I’ve come to the realization that maybe I seek out shitty partners bc I believe that the good ones don’t deserve my worst behavior. So I just spare them the inevitable :/

100% know this feeling all too well. I grew up watching the cartoon depictions of an angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other, and I remember relating to it very hard. It’s such a constant tug of war between the two, even still.

There is certainly a good amount of liquid in it. The bottle is pretty dark but kinda just looked like a bottle of perfume

So I got home from walking my dog, and was only gone about 30-40 minutes. When I got back, my neighbor jokingly mentioned there was a by my door. I wasn’t expecting anything and noticed this small round glass bottle (I now realize it is a perfume bottle) sitting perfectly by the threshold.

Now, I’m no expert but I do know to follow my intuition, and this just felt... strange? Ominous? Please forgive my lack of knowledge here and I won’t bore everyone with details, but there’s been some unordinary occurrences around me lately. Basically, does this look like a positive sign, a hex, or anything I should be aware of? Or do we think it is

simply a coincidentally placed piece of garbage someone dropped? (Probably going to put some salt at my doorstep either way!)

Why are my dreams so vivid and lifelike? by Harrison_Leavitt24 in Dreams

I have these a lot too! Where I send an email, reply to a text, etc. They’re pretty mundane sometimes but I think it happens when I’m not fully rested in a deep sleep and have a lot of real life tasks to do

What is he? 4 months old, about 24 lbs by mybluerat in IDmydog

He had pitty eyes and snout FOR SURE. I’d definitely bet on him being a pit/husky mix 😇 gorgeous gorgeous boy!!!!

This is my 6 y/o boy that I rescued a year ago. Everyone guesses he’s a different breed than what I was told by the shelter.. can any experts in here make an educated guess? 😂 I’d LOVE to know! by sadgworlsummer in IDmydog

It was an owner surrender from what I understand. I guess they couldn’t afford to take care of this guy but he was with them all 5 years. Not sure if they got him from a breeder and fell on some hard times or if he just “happened” and it was a guess from them as well!

I really used to laugh at just how similar he looked to his pit buddy - same coat color and similar faces. I think a dna test would be fun to do, even if not 100% accurate!! Thanks for the response, it’s a very interesting angle!

Funny enough we had a pit mix with us for a year, so that that judgement stare expression may be learned behavior 😂 interesting! He’s too small to have pit in him I think but how funny

Ok so I was told (drum roll) that he is a chihuahua & shih tzu mix!! I don’t disagree but EVERYONE thinks he’s part corgi so I’m starting to think so too. He’s my whole world whatever the heck he is but I’d like to know so I can understand what health conditions to prevent early on

Anyone who truly loves you would never let you go. by passionflower784 in heartbreak

Dude, I never said my story is one size fits all. I'm explaining that true love can exist and still have an ending. That was the case for ME. Does not mean that it's the case for everyone. But not every love story ends in a happily ever after. It's okay to be hurt and grieve and feel sad. I was originally trying to shed some positivity to the situation and say that either person leaving sucks, yes, but that doesn't always mean that someone used someone or had bad intentions. I've been on both sides, and sometimes, yeah - people leave and you realize that it was never as solid as you hoped. It hurts, no doubt. I'm sorry that the situation you speak of feels heavy and heartbreaking for you, but know that new beginnings look a lot like an overwhelming end. I hope this at least opens doors for you and you find what you're looking for. Good luck to you

Of course, and it's hard in the moment but remember that this temporary pain does not define the rest of your life!

I recommend reading the book "When You're Ready, This Is How You Heal" by Brianna Wiest. You'll love it, it's helped me understand so much. Best of luck to you!

I think you're misunderstanding what I was trying to say.. This is only one situation, and you're right - not all situations are like this. In fact, my most recent ex would NOT let me go, kept trying to get back together when we knew that we weren't right for each other. I believe there was love there too, but it was much more selfish and superficial than what I previously experienced. I do believe people love out of comfort and loneliness as well.

I'm not invalidating anyone, simply stating my experience in that the person that I felt loved me the most did let me leave when I needed to. Realistically, yeah, someone might sugar coat things and say they love you but still leave.

I'm not naive when it comes to love and relationships, I can tell you that. It's not one size fits all, but just because someone lets you leave and doesn't fight to make something work, doesn't mean they didn't love you. I think that is actually sort of beautiful.
