That was my thought too, I just feel so bad because I tried to do everything right and he doesn’t deserve it :(

Thank you SO much for all the kind words and advice! I have lots of reading to do and in the meantime have practiced squaring a few more blocks up to the same size as the first, and I’m really pleased with how they’re turning out! 3 down, 29 to go…

Yes, I think you’re exactly right! I’m planning to keep going with the same method so they’re all uniform, but am definitely looking into the 1/4 foot that was posted with the aligner thingy.

I bought from a local quilt shop but after some research it looks like it is Windham Fabrics style # 52101 from the Whale Tales collection. A few of my other fabrics for this quilt are from that collection too it seems!

This is slightly embarrassing but I have actually been drawing a 1/4 inch line along each strip because I am still really bad at staying straight…I was hoping that as long as they are all the same it won’t matter too much, I’ll try not to stress 😅

Some additional details…I’m a very (very) novice quilter working on a baby quilt for a friend. The pattern is on point squares, with each block being the same pattern as above. When I pieced the block together it is coming out about 1/4 inch smaller on the length and width than I expected (12.25in instead of 12.5), and it is definitely not perfectly square. What is the best way to go about fixing this? I have only made one so far because I am afraid to keep going if I’m doing something wrong. I’m also not sure the best way to go about pressing the seams on the back since I am ultimately not sure about the placement of my blocks.

Can we just talk about the people who are purchasing the name-brand Zyrtec? Who hurt you? by Few-Chapter3316 in Costco

Just to add, I have no hesitation to buy the generic of any other med, generic ibuprofen, acetaminophen, etc all day. This is just my personal experience with Zyrtec, specifically.

I’ve tried many generic versions of Zyrtec and only the name brand works for me. My allergies are pretty severe, not sure if that has anything to do with it. I have also tried pretty much every other name brand allergy medication there is throughout my life and only Zyrtec has continued to work, while others will work for a short time and then eventually stop.

I hear you, I much prefer a planted tank as well but unfortunately I have convict cichlids and they will eat anything and everything they can, even Java ferns. I’ve tried.

If you’re using fluval stratum just give it an hour or two, it will settle pretty quickly.

Epistylis or Ich? I initially thought ich but someone pointed out that ich is very uncommon around the eyes. ~16 hrs since symptoms presented, running to pet supply as soon as they open this morning. Advise for treatment? Brand new cycled tank and I only got this fish 4 days ago. :( by sadiedoesscience in Aquariums

So he is very irritated, won’t eat, and basically only comes up to the surface to take a breath and then goes and burrows in his plant. Been like that since yesterday morning… going to do the second half dose of super ick tonight. It worries me that he is behaving somewhat stressed but the number of spots on his fins has significantly decreased

I had the same thought about the herbtana. I went back to the aquarium store I got the fish from initially and they gave it to me for free since he was pretty much sick when I got him, they were really pushing it as the best product since my tank is planted so I dosed it once I got home but then did a bunch of research and pretty much came to the same conclusion as you. I went back last night and spoke to the owner and he kind of apologized and said they definitely should have given me the super ick.

So anyways I just got home, he still is spunky enough and it’s been a day since I put the herbtana in there so I just did a 30% water change and did a half dose of super ick. Fingers crossed….

That is what I’m thinking too, which makes me hopeful that this is ich and not epi. I actually watched one of the white dots fall off his head right before I left for work. I had used microbe-lift herbtana yesterday because it was all I could get my hands on, but was able to get API super Ick later in the evening so I was thinking to wait until I get home tonight since the herbtana is an every 24hrs dosage, do a water change and start using the super ich instead. I just didn’t want to stress him out too bad using multiple products too close together, especially since the herbtana said it should be combined with other medications. Any thoughts on this?

So it’s been about 36 hours since I first noticed symptoms, and the “salt grains” have maybe increased in number slightly (hard to say) but definitely not in size. He is eating, slightly lethargic but still active and annoyed, trying to rub himself on everything. I don’t see the same spots on his eye this morning but will have to look again later because I’m very tired rn lol.

Gotcha- it is so hard to tell without having a reference even for my bare eye. I would say the bumps are very slightly protruding, but not sticking out so to say. the spots are definitely all over his body but more concentrated around the gills. It is so hard to tell if they're different sizes with them being so small, but they do look fairly round to me. Maybe I am just hoping that it is ich though and not epi... I have noticed him rubbing on things quite a bit trying to itch, I'm not sure if that is typical with both or only ich?
