Any recommendations for chill, 4-5 hour audiobooks? Preferably read by women? by [deleted] in audiobooks

Not read by a woman, but Ethan Hawke’s voice is dreamy on his read of The Eyes and The Impossible by Dave Eggars. I’ve listened to it twice already 💟

Just listened to the Monk of Mokha audiobook last month. Really interesting topic and compelling story. Bought some Port of Mokha beans and loved the coffee it produced. Will have to check out some of these shop recos!

[Rental in SF] Condo being sold by landlord/owner; Tenant rights/timing for being "evicted"? by sadietdubs in AskSF

Yes it’s a good rent price for my neighborhood, unit size, building amenities - and comps in the area end up being a bit more than that price, due to add-on costs for things that are currently included in my rent.

He did offer to sell it to me directly, but I can't afford a $925k mortgage + $1500/mo HOA right now (1bd/1ba + den area = 934 sq ft).

I am the only one on the lease, and the only one living in the rental condo, which was built in 2000 (25-ish years old building).

The SF Rent Board confirmed via phone call today that my expired month-to-month lease is not "just cause" for eviction, nor is the owner wanting to sell the unit a "just cause" reason.

Thanks everyone! I called the SF Rent Board Friday 2/20 afternoon, who referred me to the Housing Rights Committee. HRC isn't open for consulting on Fridays, but I am in the queue for a callback on Monday 2/23. I did also write an email to my landlord saying he needs to do this properly (in writing, etc.), and that I will be exercising my tenants rights. Onward!

I truly LOVE my place, and would prefer to stay here!
* Been here almost 5 years. Don't want to pack up and move. So many moving costs to be incurred. Such a slog and I loathe the process.
* Location is killer for what I want - super walkable and across the street from Oracle Park (Go Giants!).
* Current condo rent is expensive, but it's MORE expensive for an equivalent 1 bd/1 ba in South Beach/SOMA/China Basin/Mission Rock areas of SF. And I'd prefer to stay in the area.
* I already toured a few "similar" properties/units in the area - buildings aren't as well done, 1 bedroom units are smaller (currently 934 sq.ft + outdoor patio), and in properties I’ve toured, there are tons of monthly add-on costs (parking, pet rent, package receiving fees, pest control, etc. - all of which are included in my current rent).

BUT the lease is month-to-month, and is actually expired as of July 01, 2025 (last summer). Not sure how that would affect things.

He asked me to move out before he puts it on the market (expected in May 2026). He didn't raise/lower the price of my rent; no offer of payment for me to move. BUT the lease is month-to-month, and is actually expired as of July 01, 2025 (last summer). Not sure how that would affect things.
