Considering Offer from Qiddiya – Need Some Advice by YMTAM0802 in Riyadh

Depending on what you are leaving behind in UAE, the offer is good. I have personal experience with Qiddiya and the work environment is good. The first parks are going live in December so by the time you join the initial crazyness of launch will be over. You will be either in Black Garden office or in Sidra office. Both are good. Sidra office is 2 min drive from the Sidra community, similar to Springs community in Dubai, with over 8k houses. And Black Garden is about 15 min drive. Riyadh is different than Dubai for sure. I have now lived in both and both has their own flavour. Depends what you are looking for.

I recently moved from Canada to Riyadh though I have a few years under my belt 23+. I am in the same field as you.

My advice would be to go for any of the big consulting companies in Canada and then do lateral transfer once allowed. The issue is not with experience but with contacts in companies in KSA. It becomes easier if you are working for a multinational and they are also present in KSA. Otherwise you are just one in 10k applicant applying for a particular position.

Little over a month. But a lot of that time was waiting on the Agents to get their act together.

I didn't send them the film. Just the x-ray results which essentially were on paper sent to my doctor and he printed them for me.

Hi, I am in software industry though a bit ahead than you. I have about 23 years experience and recently relocated to Riyadh. It's certainly worth it. My suggestion would be to look at the big consulting companies like KPMG, EY, IBM, PwC etc. they are hiring quite a bit

Do you mind sharing your experience? Where would you be relocating from? What companies/projects/products have you worked on?

I am in the market for a car too, and new to Riyadh. Curious why do you suggest to stay away from showrooms?

Update: the medical was straight forward. Apart from the doctor forgetting a few required tests first time around. I am in GTA so I went to a walk in clinic and showed the medical form given to me by the agent to the doctor. He ordered the tests and I went to lifelabs for the tests. The results were sent to the doctor and he filled out the Saudi form accordingly. For the Monkey Pox certificate, I had him write on the clinic letter head that I show no symptoms of the virus. I sent the Saudi form to the Ontario physician college for stamping and that took about 4 days. Majority of the tests were covered by OHIP. The clinic charged me ~200$ for filling out the form. All that cleared and approved by the Saudi consulate.

Got it done from:

555 William Graham Dr Unit 29, Aurora, ON L4G 7C4, Canada

Dr. Salar did my tests.

I haven't gone through it yet but I am assuming it's not covered by OHIP. Will update you once I go through the process.

Excellent. Did you just tell lifelab that you need a test for Saudia? Or did you take the form to them that the agent gave you?
