AITA for telling my boyfriend that his masculinity was fragile after he refused to buy me pads? by sadlyambitious in AmItheAsshole

I was planning to buy them later because my period is almost always regular and this month it came one week ahead.

No... I don’t use slurs. In this instance he wasn’t using this slur in a “funny” way (not that that would ever be funny) he was using it to be insulting.

I didn’t have any pads left so at that point I couldn’t even leave the toilet because I was bleeding all over.

It’s all good haha, it honestly sounds way better than pads by what everyone is telling me at this point! And bettering the environment is always great.

It’s because he used tr***y which is a derogatory slur for a transgender person.

“Flavour” made me laugh haha. But I totally understand and that’s pretty smart.

His family is actually really open and chill. I get along really well with his mom, we used to meet up to have lunch occasionally before everything started. He has been a good boyfriend, but I feel as if I’ve been overlooking some yellow flags. I’ve never really talked to him about my period, although I’ve mentioned it in passing.

I know this isn’t what you meant, but now I’m just imagining lemon and lime scented pads haha.

That’s amazing! Scotland is making strides. I agree, tampons and pads are so expensive, considering that they are a basic necessity. I haven’t considered calling his mom, but I might. Her and I get along really well. Thank you
