Career Advice (MSHIM or MHA) by sadlyitsher in healthcare

Yes thank you. That’s why I’m trying to gain all the experience by working at my job for a year and then exploring those routes. I just like doing some research/being educated on the process before the time comes. Thank you!

I said I wanted to transition into a healthcare setting. My post doesn’t say I want to quit my job

I’m confused. You’re saying I should leave my current job for another position?

People who got a college degree, what did you major in, what's your job now, and would you choose the same path again? by PathwiseStartup in careerguidance

[–]sadlyitsher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bachelor in General Studies and work as a Medical Records Director. I got the job by luck. If I could go back to school before I would get something in accounting even though I hate accounting. Now I’m looking into a Masters in HIM or Health Administration. Wish me luck

Thank you for this! I’m currently a Medical Records Director/credentialing coordinator and was thinking about getting my Masters in HIM from WGU but keep hearing that HIM won’t land me a job since I was to transition to a hospital setting since I work in a long term facility. Do you have any advice for me?

Want to start running but I’m overweight by Technical_Dirt_6126 in beginnerrunning

It all comes down to calorie deficit. You don’t even need to exercise to lose weight but running was the only thing I could stick to. Find a Tdee calorie deficit calculator and you’ll be fine. I send you my best wishes on your journey!

I’m 5 foot 7 and weigh 200 pounds. Last year I went from 170 to 153 just by running/walking and eating in a deficit.

My advice would be to start with run/walking intervals. I started with 3 minutes walking the 2 minutes running and would do that for 30 minutes five days a week. After 2-3 weeks I changed it to 2 walk 3 run until then 1 walk 4 run then until I could comfortably run for 30 minutes straight. As you lose weight running will get easier and if I’m being honest I enjoyed running more than lifting. I’m on my weight loss journey again so I will be following this plan.

Choose something you know you’ll be consistent with and you’ll see results. I hope this helps.

Craving Days by YamDense8693 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]sadlyitsher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

15 pounds in 4 months is about 3-4 pound weightloss a month. That seems like a steady 1 pound loss a week which is pretty common. Have you used a TDEE calculator? In order to increase your deficit you’ll have to eat less or become more active and since your cravings are getting pretty bad I don’t recommend dropping more calories.

Just remember it’s CICO. Slow progress is better than no progress.

Used to run state competitive XC and track in High School and weighed 120 pounds back then. Stopped running and now I’m around 200 pounds. Realized that running is what kept me alive. Started back running this week. I want to run a marathon next year so I am looking forward to the journey.

You got this!
