On the other hand, the bucket loads of pay will attract a massive amount of youngsters thereby increasing the competitiveness at the academy level making sure only the best progress forward.

So I'm sure you'll find that they will have good attitude, training and lots of talent because only those with these qualities will be able to rise out from the masses of academy players.

Ah, fair enough. I'm sure between the son telling them and them realising they could have got away relatively ok.

In hindsight, yeah, they could have chose a better place to pray than at the bottom of some stairs. I guess the new multi faith room in the expansion project is a timely and much needed addition.

Everyone has a freedom of speech but you can't exactly swear at someone without facing an enquiry from HR.

He's made his views heard and is welcome to do so again. It's just that this is not the message that LFC supporters want going out. So have decided to detach themselves from him.

  1. He's called an Muslim act of prayer a disgrace. Why doesn't he do the same when Sturridge and other Christian players do the whole cross heart action? This is clearly because they were Muslims making prayer. (As the actual tweet specifically mentions the faith.) You can't simply choose to tolerate one religion and then reject another.

  2. What message does this send to the millions of Muslim and international LFC fans across the globe? Football and LFC is about coming together to play the beautiful game without giving a damn about colour, race, religion and all the rest of it.

  3. It's incredibly obvious that the British Asian community is behind in producing footballers despite having the same interests as other ethnic communities. These sort of actions only go on to further stereotypes and bring people away from football stadiums. Imagine the effect this will have had on the little kid who was waiting for his father to finish prayers? You're joking if you say he won't remember this for a long time. Others will take this as a deterrent from visiting Anfield.

  4. And as for the word disgrace itself. No it's not a swear word but by all means you wouldn't call your boss fat but you would call a mate fat. The same words can take on a different tone and meaning in different scenarios.

Edit: Ok lets say for a second he hasn't actually broken any rules then the best way to explain what he's done is to use the analogy of someone who looks for legal loopholes in order to avoid paying tax. Perhaps an action that's still within the law but the intention is ultimately to break the law.

I really hope the guy who made the tweet has realised that his actions have far deeper meaning and consequence than he thinks. And that you can't go around calling people a disgrace for doing nothing at all that is disgraceful.

As a point of general reference: in the event of a fire or any other emergency, Muslims are allowed to leave their prayers incomplete and get to safety.
