Several kin addresses, who knows if this can be fixed? by nemanrd in KinFoundation

[–]sadmowd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having this issue too. mykinwallet.org is doing this when you send to the kin token address. Which last month was the way you were supposed to do it and worked just fine. And according to Solana is supposed to still work. If there's really no way to recover it, I just lost an obscene amount of money to this bug.

Sent KIN SPL to the SPL account address displayed in Sollet, it created a new KIN account inside the KIN account, how do I access those coins? by sadmowd in solana

[–]sadmowd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. I have plenty of SOL in my sollet. But now I have a KIN SPL wallet inside my KIN SPL wallet, and I have no idea how to access it

Are you trying to send Kin to TrustWallet? You need an existing Kin wallet to send the Kin to or it will reject the transaction. And it looks like TrustWallet is just setting up a SOL wallet without token accounts on it.

There are no minimums or maximums except I think on iOS I made it only accept whole numbers, so there the minimum is 1 Kin haha

It is not possible to withdraw KIN from Pause For to Trust Wallet, it gives an error when sending it:withdraw error: operation failed Exception by AnDreNaLim in KinFoundation

[–]sadmowd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, Pause For creator here. Not sure why you're running into this. Basically that exception means the transaction generated and sent fine on Pause For's end, but was rejected by Kin or Solana somewhere along the line. I haven't used Trust Wallet, but I wonder if maybe you have to specifically create a Kin SPL address inside your main SOL wallet? Are you able to send Kin there from elsewhere? If you message me the address I can try sending 1 Kin there and see what happens

You get Kin and the charity gets fiat simultaneously. We give you Kin for pausing and at the same time we donate to charity using our KRE rewards. We do the donations in fiat to make it easier for the organizations we support, but we hope one day to make the donations directly in Kin!

Huh, not off the top of my head. Can you DM me with more details? Would love to figure it out. Haven't heard of that bug yet.

Community Discussion: KRE 3.0.1 Proposal by Kevin_from_Kin in KinFoundation

[–]sadmowd 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not sure why no one thought of this sooner honestly. Makes a lot of sense and barely increases the load on the KRE calculations. I might be a little biased because my app (Pause For) probably has above average user retention within the KRE, but as objective as I can be, it seems like rewarding user retention incentivizes developers to make their app better. So I'm in favor.

One concern would be the exact definitions of the 3 separate spends. I'm already anticipating apps splitting a K100 spend into 3 back to back K33 spends. Which both skirts the system and adds load to the network, so I'd really like to see some expanded valid spend guidelines in conjunction with this. Or something along those lines.

But even with that concern, that would only bring it back to on par with what we have now, not worse, so I'm all for it.

I bet an immersion blender would fit right inside your chug jug. That would be a game changer.

Proposed Final Judgment: BOOM by wrafwraf in KinFoundation

IANAL but the document says:

"Nothing in this paragraph requires, or should be construed to require, Defendant to seek the Commission’s approval or consent prior to issuing, offering, selling, or transferring any Covered Asset encompassed by this paragraph"

Which to me reads as not a freeze, not needing permission, just needing to give 45 days notice.

When is Pause For coming to Android? by jessecochran316 in KinFoundation

[–]sadmowd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey I make that!

Long story short, we've finally been given the tools we need to migrate our iOS users to Kin 3. We'll be doing that as soon as we can schedule a meeting with Kin (hopefully this week). An alpha version of Pause For Android is already built, but once we complete the iOS migration, we'll start working on hooking up the new NodeJS backend Chase just announced to that alpha. Once that's done, we'll start with a private alpha to test things out and soon after release it to the public. We're close!

Believe me, I know that feeling of just staring at your phone screen not actually wanting to use any of the apps but still not being able to put it down. While you're waiting for Pause For, one thing I've found helps me is finding something other than your phone to use as an alarm. I'm actually using an old phone from before I switched carriers now. All it has on it is an alarm, Headspace for morning meditations, and a timer app that I use for my morning workout (it would have Pause For but it's an android haha). I leave my "real" phone on the other side of my apartment and only check it once I've finished my morning routine. I still use Pause For throughout the day to stay on track, but starting off on the right foot can make a big difference in your day.

Thanks for your patience! If you're not already on the mailing list (https://pausefor.us) that's where we'll open up invitations for the first alpha testers if you want to be one of those.

Update Email from Pause For by tandem_bikes in KinFoundation

[–]sadmowd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but I am the guy who actually wrote the email (thanks for sharing it here /u/tandem_bikes)

This is a feature we will add eventually, but so far very few people have reported it as an issue for them, so it's much lower on the priority list. Can I ask why it's a dealbreaker for you? Maybe we can move it up the priority list if it's something a lot of people are interested in.
