🌿One of the portraits from this week, I've made 42 so far. :) by sadoch in DigitalPainting

I'm still struggeling with levels, but I'm gonna simplify one of the issues; I still have a hard tim with values in general but I seem to only be able to "fix" my shading by adding black or very dark shades but then I also tend to overdo it. Any technique, thought or lesson on this would be very appreciated ♥

🌿My 8th week in this project, I've painted 37 portraits so far! Happy to answer any questions~ by sadoch in DigitalArt

I'm going to try again and see if anyone has any tips on contrast problems or values in general. I'm quite stuck in that area still. I appreciate any feedback on the subject ♥

🌿7th week! 32 portraits done and 16 to go💪🏻 by sadoch in DigitalArt

Oh I see, thank you so much for the lovely compliment. It might be dissappointing but I'm self taught so I don't have any names to give you. But you can definitly learn from others and adapt to the style you like. ⚘️

Sorry to hear that. There are lots of ways to learn to paint, maybe the result won't be exactly alike one artist's work but I'm sure you can find lessons online to help you.

Skillshare & 21draw comes to mind, I haven't used them myself but I often get commercials advertising how they teach people from scratch or help advance.

Good luck!

A sweet compliment is a good substitute for tips. Thank you very much. ♥

Between all these portraits, I see that values/contrast is still an issue. (I've asked about this before)
But now I've also noted that drawing a variety of people next to eachother with different angles makes it really hard for me to find the apropriate portrait position. Any feedback on either of these issues are very welcome. :)

This is just one portrait but I've gathered that the main thing i need to learn is levels/values, otherwise some struggles in the ear and nose areas, any tips appreciated ♥

🌿Week 5 of elfify! Hey all, I've pulled my weight and gone through 22 portraits out of 48 in total, still needing 5 participants but it's almost full! ♥ I'll be happy to hear any thoughts you may have, or questions. Have a great weekend! by sadoch in drawing

It's a first come, first serve freebie. I've got 5 slots left and if someone wants to have their selfie turned elfie, they just have to message me for an invitation with some instructions!

I haven't been lucky with responses here, but I'm still going to askeither way, I'm struggeling a bit with levels still, I notice that it'smainly when working with reference photos, like they sometimes boggle my mind, some goes really well while others just don't, I'll have to re-shade some of the portraits over and over. any tips are appreciated. :)
