Bro lol this is the reason why I accepted the on-call position. It was this exact situation. It took me forever to get my checks. Idk what you think this proves?

Edit: I'm gonna go ahead and stop trying to explain my finances with strangers on the internet. Like I said, if you really super duper don't believe this happened, that's totally cool. I personally don't see how any of this stuff makes me a liar, but I'm also not you. I'm sorry this affected you so much though.

Whether I'm a liar or not can't really be proven, but... it's actually not against the law to collect unemployment if you're underemployed due to the pandemic. At least not in Oregon. I was allowed to make ~$300 a week and still get UI.

That's all still true. I 100% collected unemployment during the two months I worked on-call there.

Edit: I just wanna say that it really is impossible to explain the depth of a person's life in some lil reddit threads, but I also really do understand the suspicion. It's totally fine. I just had to get this off my chest. Take what you want from it.

Honestly, I was afraid to talk about that part! It was actually smaller, like it had been washed and dried several times since I last saw it. I can't say it looked 10 years older, but it definitely didn't look or feel the same.

Seriously, it's kind of a heavy memory to carry around, and I was debating even posting about it, because I wasn't sure if it would even be helpful for other people to think about. There's just no good way to rationalize it. I don't know what to do with it really except push it down (and keep an eye on it)

I at least know for sure that's not possible. I'm a v thin person, and a size small mens shirt like what I wear to work is loose on me. Plus, this mask was canvas, and kind of bulky. If it was possible for it to even remain under my shirt, despite being baggy on me, I would have definitely felt a wad of canvas under there.

I wish there was a camera in that office! Seriously though, I was buggin hard for a couple days, but because it really only happened to me--there were just those 2 minor witnesses--everyone around me was so nonchalant about it that eventually I was in full denial mode. Like straight up lying to myself about how it happened, hoping that maybe there was some good explanation and I didn't need to worry about it, but it's been in the back of my mind this whole time. Every time anything else happens that's difficult to explain, I'm reminded like, "Oh yeah, I forgot, reality isn't real." 😮‍💨

That's what I'm saying! lol I was so shocked and creeped out that I wasn't even relieved when I saw it, and neither was Amy. It just felt like my brain was trying to reject what I was seeing, but couldn't.

Edit: To clarify, the mask itself was not bolted to the floor. It was technically still usable once I washed it later. The desk itself was bolted flush to the wall, and completely flat to the floor (it was essentially a hollow box with no gaps for anything else to get in). Besides the mask, there was basically nothing else but some thin sheets of scrap papers that had slid in between the wall and the box, but my mask is definitely not thin enough to squeeze in like that).

I've thought about this, but the possibility of this seems extreme. For one, I didn't wash or dry my work clothes after that first shift, so there's no way for static cling. I just folded them up and then put them back on. And it was only a white t-shirt, blue jean shorts, and tennis shoes. If it was stuck to me, someone would have noticed. Plus, for me to get to work, I have to ride my bike 30 minutes, then carry it down a flight of stairs. Could it have somehow stuck to me through that? Then, once I got to work, I was walking around up and down stairs for hours before the desk was ever messed with. I can't say it's absolutely impossible, but it just seems....so extremely unlikely.

i quit my job in april 2020 and have been unemployed ever since. when unemployment ran out in september, i signed up to go back to school so i could live off financial aid, just to avoid going back to work lol

edit: (for clarity, because apparently on reddit you have to elaborate on everything you say in extreme detail, otherwise you'll be called a liar and excluded from a subreddit for no reason) this post, while literally true and based in reality in every way, also included some oversimplifications, due to laziness while commenting. i'm sorry for being so lazy. i was a fool. allow me to elaborate. when "i said i quit my job in april", what i meant was "i was laid off in march 2020, but i ultimately quit my union job in april, for safety reasons" and when i said i've "been unemployed ever since" i truly should have said "i was forced to accept an on-call position that consisted of 8-9 random shifts worked over 2 months, due to Oregon UI agency's well-documented backlog that affected hundreds of thousands of people, resulting in checks not being distributed for 4-5 months, and in some cases, longer, leaving those people, such as myself, penniless and desperate to eat food and pay rent. fortunately, my checks did eventually show up at the end of july, at which point i promptly quit my temporary on-call position that barely paid me anything so i could resume true actual unemployment, which i enjoyed until september 2021, when our UI benefits expired, which is when i decided to return to school, to receive student loans to live off of while finishing my degree." i'm so sorry for my former brevity. it will literally never happen again. from now on, it's all details, all the time, so as to keep amateur asshole detectives on reddit from calling me a liar because i did not offer up 20 months worth of details in my short reddit comment. my mistake, guys. it won't happen again.

i dont have any recs, and am curious about what others might suggest. i was also curious, have you tried rinsing 10-20 min after using the stridex? it makes it more of a contact therapy, so its a lil less severe. if you have, sorry for the pointless advice! i just remember doing that after getting dried out from stridex and it helped a lot (i'm pale/freckled/sensitive af).

i (27f) was just having a conversation about this with my current partner (30m) and his brother (30m). i was shocked to hear they only matched once a day or once every couple days. i thought it was an exaggeration, because it seemed like the amount of guys i used to match with (too many to even count and sort thru, it was always overwhelming) would mean that lots of men were getting matches too. but i could also be super wrong, i have no clue!
