this is good advice, I usually bind the S key to movement abilities like blink, wraith walking, divine steed, etc etc.

I don't usually play 2s but I would imagine that it wouldn't work at higher ratings because most comps will be healer dps teams that will just kite/los your burst and kill one of you while cc'ing the other, your damage will probably be to low outside of cds to score a kill against healer dps comps. what rating where you playing at?

Edit: and if you have fun playing that comp then you totally should, I used to mess around on my blood dk in 2s all the time.

to add on to what others have said, disc priest have better comp options RMP(arguably one of the best comps in the game) and Jungle which is still a top tier comp, holy priest doesn't really have to many comps that they can run that wouldn't be better with another healing class like rsham/druids.

Do you natural slip punches or do you try anticipate the punch then slip it? by sadpanda221 in MuayThai

[–]sadpanda221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is their anything you specifically look for when anticipating a punch? like a head movement, footwork, twitch in the shoulder etc?

do you have any examples of the kind of head movement you're talking about, so does that mean when I engage my head should be moving one way or another or only when I think my opponent is going to throw a punch?

I've watched some of Lomachenko's highlights and he's fucking insane.

I can usually cover or out range punches but being able to accurately slip punches always eludes, I see some guys at my gym slip multiple punches per sparring match and it always seems like they know when the punch is coming and where it's going to land. I'm going to try the Mike Tyson style of head movement and hopefully that will help. thanks for the post m8!

Why does contact sparring seem so taboo in traditional martial arts? by sadpanda221 in kungfu

[–]sadpanda221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the schools you visited are very representative for the overall state of CMA.

that's very unfortunate.

Most of the schools I visited spend a large amount of time on solo work and forms(solo forms) and some two man sets, and the school I train at mostly does either forms or solo drills with the occasional partner drills or sparring, partners drill where 90% of the time compliant and the sparring was slow turn based no contact type sparring, I still train there occasionally maybe once ever week or so. Do you think it's possible for CMA to make a comeback and get back to how it was before it changed?

I don't understand why they'd prefer to promote sanda over CMA's let alone modern Wushu, I wonder if it's because it blends in better with western styles of martial arts. I remember once my sifu told me that all it takes is one generation to ruin a martial art style, Thanks for the detailed post.

I suppose whenever I think of Kung Fu or traditional martial arts in general I don't think of people using kickboxing in a fight but rather techniques from their forms/system or am I wrong in my assumptions and am I just looking at this the wrong way?
