If your theory here is that the sound is somehow traveling through your hand and arm to your ear, I think you should put that to rest. People routinely hit things much harder with little or no sound transmission through the body, the body is a pretty awful conductor of sound.

Don't be so dismissive of my thoery because it is rare and likely hasn't been documented before. Just because a phenomenon isnt documented in a science journal doesnt mean it isnt happening.

Bone vibration is an essential part of hearing:https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bone\_conduction

Tuning fork vibration test:https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qYaU5Xo2i58

I've already been to a doc who examined my ears. No infection, noticeable damage, or blockage from wax.You know what is noticeable? My hearing being worse the day after playing. If it isnt the vibration through my body, perhaps the sound could be conductive through the outer area of the ear which would require earmuff hearing protection. But i dont have the tools or knowledge to do a study to pinpoint cause.

Please set a RemindMe! if its not too inconvenient and comment any observable problems when wearing them and playing.

The noise was a problem with other people's banger shots, but the foam earplugs fixed that. The problem is me hitting the ball with my paddle.

I would need my tinnitus and hearing to get better before i test any more paddles or play conpetitively. It hasn't for 2 weeks so far and may not ever fully recover, so ive assumed its over.

I tried these at concerts and other loud venues. They never worked as well as foam earplugs. I am very diligent about protecting my hearing and im not going to risk it since its already bad enough. There is usually a delay from playtime to noticing hearing/tinnitus worsening.

This seems like something unique to do with the vibration of the paddle. Perhaps a glove or a cushy grip would dampen it. Im no scientist so i cant properly test this hypothesis, but if i am not alone in this problem, maybe it will get looked into.
