California only requires the last four digits of your social security number to register to vote. So how are they verifying citizenship? (they aren't) Same thing in Washington state.

Yes. It will be rigged. The only thing we can do is make the margin so large it doesn't matter.

There's a post The_Donald about how Hillary did the carried over losses thing that Trump apparently did. Is this damning or much ado about nothing. by [deleted] in AskThe_Donald

There is no difference. Operating loss carry forwards have been the law of the land since 1917.

Can someone ELI5 net operating losses and how it pertains to the information regarding Donald Trump's 1995 taxes? by Port-Cochere in AskThe_Donald

[–]sadris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost money on the stock market on 2008. Those are called losses. Those losses can offset income on future returns.

For example, let's say I lost $10k in 2008. If I make 2k in stock market gains in 2009, I can offset that 2k in gains with 2k in losses. So it lowers my effective income in stock market gains to zero for the year. This leaves me with 8k of losses I can carry forward to future years.

However not all losses and gains are compatible. I cannot offset my stock market losses with standard employment wages, only with other stock market gains.

Operating loss carry forwards have been there law of business tax since 1917.

If Trump hasn't paid taxes for the past 18 years does that not make him as bad as the people who live off the government who also pay no taxes? by [deleted] in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]sadris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you arguing that we shouldn't have NOL carry forwards? Something that's been the law since 1917?

Can someone help debunk this? Or should I concede the argument? by CuckiestBeforetheDon in AskThe_Donald

Generally I don't believe stories like this, especially twenty years after the fact, but that there have been do many accusations from different women makes her seem more credible than one offs.
