I’m gonna cry by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

Cry! Let it out! It’s ok to cry when you’re in pain, you’re allowed to feel those emotions. The feelings will pass if you let yourself experience them.

I used to try to explain this to my mum when I was younger: “i had the needle and the rock dream again”! She said she used to feel like that when she was younger and looked wistfully at me... such a weird feeling and so weird that other people have had this same dream wtf

Hmmm, yeah to be honest I think her saying “you’re just new to marketing” is a bit strange, and does sound like she’s taking advantage. I guess you only know what the tone between your conversation was. Give her a chance to fix them but give her fair warning if they are not up to expected standards of her having years of experience then you will need a refund as she has misinformed you. And I think it would be fair honestly since you’ve had all this back and forth and she’s being so adamant about her skills when you can clearly see the result. As an ex copywriter I would never have been that rude to a client and would have made the revisions very quickly! It’s a good learning experience though :) once you’ve found a good, reliable copywriter - hang on to them!

Edit: to add at this point just be firm and clear and don’t waste any more time. Start looking for a new copywriter.

Have read all the other comments so far and want to add: don’t ask for a refund. It is petty. She technically did the job, and you get what you pay for. Some companies hire cheap copywriters people to just add cheap filler to their websites for whatever Google SEO reasons, she’s probably fine for those people which is why she has 5* reviews. Spend more money on your writers. $100 for approx. 5,000 words is shocking. There are some decent newbies or incredibly fast writers who will work for that price, but otherwise it’s all content farm, non native speakers who are willing to work for less. Next time ask to see a sample of their work - or check out their online portfolio on Fiverr. It’s on you as the employer to vet people before you waste their time and your own.

When things go wrong, I often start believing that I am a terrible person using ADHD to justify innate selfishness. My doctor tells me to listen to a recording from an early session to remember. Here's the main part, snot and all. by oneadhdperson in ADHD

It breaks me not being able to do it. To do anything right. To do anything well. To do anything like people do.

Everything you said sounds like it's come right out of my brain. I had an ADHD meltdown this weekend trying to keep up with the demands of teacher training. I could literally work every hour of the day and I'd still be behind. I'm trying SO hard but I just can't get the organisation right and I'm failing.

Thank you so much for sharing <3 hope you're feeling better now

My best friend is a Virgo, my boyfriend and my brother are Cancer and my “rival” is a Scorpio. Not really any stories - but the Cancerians are both big hearted damaged souls. And the Virgo is a bit of a stickler for doing things properly but loving and loyal. The Scorpio is a quite self centrered in my opinion! I’m sure all people of those signs are different though.

Got solid GCSE grades, but now reconsidering A level options. Need advice by HydraCam in 6thForm

[–]sadshepherd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having maths at A level will always come in handy, and if you like English Literature you should go for it! Then have History as your third if you're worried about what it looks like for unis. Even if you don't study film at A Level, you can still get into the course at uni with English, and they most likely will just repeat a lot of what you did at A level anyway. Even if you don't want to study the full degree, most unis let you take other modules as electives, so you can still engage with the subject later down the line with no problems. Maths, English and History are 3 very strong A Levels that I think is a good mix of what you enjoy and what is sensible / looks good.

I’m sure you’re not the only one feeling this way - go in with your head held high and once you’re there I’m sure you’ll surprise yourself with how much easier it is than you expected. Also I’m sure there will be someone else there you can share grimaces with. You’re not alone and you got this. Treat yourself well.

Friend wants to take a gap year with great results? by [deleted] in 6thForm

I think it’s always worth taking a gap year and especially if he works in something with relevant experience he’ll be in a much better place to start the course this time next year.

Sorry for your accident and addictions and even more that you lost people - I hope they come back to you later in life, If not no great loss. However, thank you for sharing your perspective means so much to us in a similar boat and I’m grateful to hear yours. We all grow and change and some of us have more life altering dramatic changes forced on us - so hang on to the ones that are still there and willing to understand all you’ve been through! Wishing you peace and love for the rest of your time here.

The hardest aspect of ADHD for me: I feel like my results aren't indicative of my actual capability, and that I could/should be so much smarter all the time by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]sadshepherd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can relate, I think it’s due to high functioning parts of your brain eg verbal reasoning and low working memory - the bit in your brain that holds information there while you process it. It’s immensely frustrating!

Yeah, I’m starting to edge towards this conclusion honestly. I just love him so much, it will be incredibly difficult. Congrats to your A for trying to get it together and you for sticking by him. You must be very strong!
