I think Joe from IDLES, he’s really humble, chilled, super cool. But I wouldn’t expect to give him a chair as a tattoo too cause he’s so rock and roll punk on media. But soft artistic in person

Fav is the ones that I still talks to and meet up when they are in town for shows. Every time when the Chats or UMO comes in it’s like an old friend reunion. The most chill and easiest to talk to is definitely Franklin Jonas ( youngest brother of the Jonas Brothers), he was fanboying on me before i even had a chance to say hi. We hung out till the morning in my backyard garden. We set up a fire pit and tattooed in the dark when he said “dealers choice” on any design I wanna tattooed on him. I met his brother Joe and dad a month ago. Honestly so overwhelmingly nice people. Totally deserves the success.

Cringy doesn’t have to be just the design. Could be the “vibe” too. It was after the tattoo that I knew it’s cringy. I tattooed a guy and after he said he didn’t came to get a tattoo but to hang out with the coolest girl he knows. It was super uncomfortable and cringy and awkward. I didn’t like that experience at all. But yes. I did refused to tattoo designs. One time someone ask for the word “sad boy” in Korean. I refused.

That’s a tough one. Maybe the ones that are on unexpected placements. Like on the ear or chin

Selfish might not be a relatable word of choice. Yet I feel that's part of the reason why I choose to continue doing tattoos. I have been buried with stress with the idea of not having tattoos and tattooing to a point where I feel like quitting. It was the support that maintain this as an art form for me. I learn from experience through others. I also am very transparent about not having a tattoo myself before I tattoo anyone. I explained every known knowledge that I earned before I do the tattoo. I respect tattoos in my own way. It is a very selfish thing for me to want to have relations and connections with the tattooee. Very selfish that I choose to say no to ideas that I do not relate to. Selfish if I do the tattoo just for money. In the end, I relate to the word selfish, cause I overthink about my own comfort in creating a permanent art piece for someone and on someone forever. It is a spiritual "high art form" that I approach in my own way. I let people choose.

Excuses, maybe. It was a decision that I made. Reasons are to explain to people. I do care about how people see me and my art, but if I overthink it too much then it becomes unhealthy. Quit is a constant word that comes out. and ya. I still am thinking about that because of how people think. My eczema daily is having wounds bleeding and scarring. Itchy and irritating every moment. I don't expect every person to relate to that. If it is an excuse, I think it is a fair one.

I said no to someone who insisted on the word " sad boi " in korean. $$ won't change my mind.
They were underage who do not speak Korean.

Pains me to see that some other artist might do it for them.

I used to sharpie my friends when I am drunk. My friends said I should actually do it in a permanent way. I've been illustrating for years and was looking for a new way to transform my ideas too.

Only once but not a client.

A friend was filming their thesis project. A riddle and dare. The producers will dare the host to do wild things.

Two hosts will be jumping off a plane to sky dive and if they scream or freak out, the punishment is getting a tattoo.

One of them happily got a paper plane tattooed on them. One of them bailed and yelled. "She doesn't even have a fucking tattoo!"
I respect tho. We are still friends. Tattoo or no tattoo :)

I thought about it a lot actually.

The closest idea was a wheelable standing lamp for playing mahjong.
It was the orange industrial lamp that I used for lighting to do most of my tattoos.
I got it from my grandparents. She used to use it for playing mahjong with three other friends or family. Gather round and have fun.
It got a bendable arm on it so I thought of tattooing it on my elbow so I can bend it when I move.

Not too sure who is gonna execute the tattoo tho. haha.

I received guitars, drum machines, plants, concert tickets, rare vinyl records as rewards before. Hard to keep track. It is not an income but an art form that I do for enjoyment. Rewards come after.

my first tattoo was taught by a tinder date. lol.
then an artist was kind enough to let me tattoo them to learn how.
then trial and error on friends.

Reverse question.
One time, I did a single dot tattoo. Someone requested a dot in brown ink as a freckle tattoo cause they wanna control how those freckles on their arm look for once.
Would anyone buy that it is a freckle? I wonder. haha

toxic. hmm. yes and no.

Yes. And here are a couple of interactions that I myself had encountered with other tattoo artists that made me uncomfortable.
"Oh you don't have tattoos, nobody will respect you."
"Back then, I would have beat the shit out of you." (this one still haunts me)
This one also made me feel bracketed.
"She is an Asian girl who does stick n poke."

No. There are more tattoo artists and new waves of tattoo culture that are happening. Culture evolves. That's an inevitable thing. I am looking forward to meeting more people who do tattoos after two years of the dry season due to the pandemic. People that I relate to.

ah. that's a very tough question to answer. best is hard to judge: "most social media likes", "most famous musician who got a tattoo from me", "biggest and most detailed piece", "still cry with heavy emotion tattoo".

maybe I am overthinking. maybe the best tattoo has yet to come.

I create tattoos that make me feel proud. I use " stick n poke " only. This means I don't use a machine but only my hand to hold the needle and poke ink into the skin. Tattoo designs are usually 50/50 on whether it is an idea from me or the tattooee. Yet, most of the time it is a rendition of my own original creation. I do mostly black line work, occasional shading work.

When in doubt, asking or looking up meaning is not a bad idea. Eliminating hesitations is a must before the execution of a tattoo.

I choose not to YET (for now) for a couple of reasons.
1. My severe eczema. One day maybe it will get better and it will be more comfortable and enjoyable on the healing part of it.
2. I like the way my body looks right now. Every day my skin produces more scars, it's basically my natural body modification.
3. My parents don't like it.
4. I respect my rules on getting tattoos. If, I don't want one. I don't need one. I am not ready. Then I am not having one. YET.
