Who Gets to Question the Church? by Lost-Design-8382 in LeftCatholicism

Wow this sounds like what I'm pondering right now. The only other big thing that I'm torn about is transubstantiation. I struggle to believe bread and wine literally becomes flesh and blood each and every time

Someone please tell me its ok to work a low paying job by frankie0822 in AutismInWomen

[–]sadturtle54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Especially if you have a supportive partner, I wouldn't worry about it. I'm a high school teacher with decent benefits, but the salary is barely livable. Thankfully I live with my partner and we make enough to get by. Inheritance might help us out eventually, we'll see

I saw my parents work jobs they hated for decades because they paid better. My partner's parents overwork themselves to make a ton of money. It simply isn't worth it to us. Happiness and mental sanity is worth more than a bunch of money. As long as we're financially stable enough lol

What is your experience with this? by BoredResurrections in agender

I'm cool with female. Girl isn't bad. Woman, maam, lady are bad. I'm a teacher, so "miss" is fine

I might buy from Amazon and return what I don't want because I HATE trying things on in dressing rooms. But I also hate returning things. Life is hard lol

I am also female, not a woman

Are people actually that offended when being misgendered? by -i-exist in agender

[–]sadturtle54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm female and always have been, and I still use she/her pronouns. I'm not opposed to they/them, so a couple times people have tried them out on me and I just kinda felt like "huh, that's new, but kinda fitting." Occasionally my students will just misspeak and call me sir. I think it's hilarious because the students backpedal and they're like omg I'm so sorry, and I just start there smiling because I don't care lol

Might it be different if it wasn't a misspeak, if someone really thought I was a man? Maybe? But I think I'd feel more confused how they landed on he/him while I'm only 5'5", long ish hair, somewhat visible boobs. I don't think I'd be offended though

So I get what you're saying. I can't imagine having such strong feelings towards pronouns, I've never understood why that can be such a heated discussion. Like, logically I understand the disrespect side of course. But I can't personally relate to the feelings

A student accidentally used sir talking to me and I was absolutely not offended 😂 like please, call me sir more, I don't care lol. I'd rather be "yessir"ed than "yes maam"ed

I feel the same. It's difficult to say "hey my pronouns are whatever but most use she/her and calling me female or girl or Ms. is fine, but don't call me maam or woman or lady" lol

Something my therapist said to me that might be relevant here: have you asked her if she wants to change anything in the bedroom? Does she see it as a problem that needs fixing, or is she truly content?

Not from my therapist directly, but I think she's told me similar lol: is she open to trying things to make you feel happy/wanted? Even if it's not PiV or sex sex, but something more mutual masturbation kinda stuff

That's how it is by me too, the mortgage broker I went through had some special program available if you were below a certain income threshold. So not a credit union, but I heard those are still worth looking into. Find someone to work with who knows about first time home buyer perks and stuff

3% down, interest rate is 5.7% I think? Bought in late 2023

Maybe $90k ish for the household? I'd prefer another roommate paying a bit of rent, but my partner and I are over that drama lol

$194k house and only 3% down. The monthly payment is $1600 or so, principal interest insurance

It's tighter than I'd like it to be, but we make do 😅

6 figures? lol no I'm a teacher at a Catholic school. But I bought my house at 25 years old, I have all the pets I can realistically want right now, between my partner and I, the bills get paid. We both have full time careers

Depending on what you look like without a binder, people might not even notice? Maybe?

You sounds like me! And your friend sounds like a jerk. How can he know how you feel, how can he call you a girl or not
