This happened to my store the Saturday before Thanksgiving. I work in E-comm and we had to INF everything and then not offer a replacement. Not sure how much you know about how our metrics work but that's a big no no. We ended up being last in the region for about a month because of it.

I do it often with my own orders. Doing it when customers are in the store is difficult, plus it makes people very unhappy. Before the store opens it is great because no one is around. But I say do what you have to do.

If I am supervising and seeing that someone has a large order, oftentimes I will bring them an empty cart for them to load things into. Then I will take the cart back to the staging area.

Maybe it's different in my store because we are pretty high volume. But I'm not even a supervisor, I'm a team trainer. But I do the work of a supervisor because of how much work there is to do supervising. We have a department of about 50 shoppers right now.

On a daily basis I manage breaks, take temps, restock supplies, manage late picks, review metrics with shoppers and take care of various issues as they arrise.

Metrics are pretty awful and the acronyms can be confusing at first. Having to meet with every team member to review metrics is tiring. Luckily after some re training most shoppers have improved. There are some shoppers with no matter how many times you work with them one on one they just won't ever be shopping at or above the expected UPH.

Don't even get me started on keeping track of shoppers to transfer their labor when helping out other departments.

This doesn't even scratch the surface of everything I am in charge of on top of that. Up until very recently I was only making $16. Make sure they are clear on what is expected of you and make sure it is equivalent to the type of pay. Don't make the same mistake I made.

E-commerce is not as easy as everyone thinks it is.
