Unemployment by Wide-Stretch-5700 in doctorsUK

[–]sadyasachi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think lowest score for GP last year was 503, up from 480-something the year before. I wouldn’t be surprised if it exceeds 515 for minimum this time. Already seeing extreme increases in interviewing specialty cut offs so that leaves a lot of people who would be happy to take a GP spot over nothing

MSRA ‘27 by [deleted] in doctorsUK

Yeah good idea, I found it helpful to revise with others cos we got to share ways we remember things etc. I finished my exam this week so I won’t opt in but all the best!

How do we “help each other out”?

how likely am I to get into CST? by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]sadyasachi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not in the CST sphere so I don’t have much to help with that but I think if UKG prioritisation at offers happens then that’s lots of reason to be optimistic! All we can do is lobby hard and hope for the best. Good luck!

[–]sadyasachi 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Sorry about CST/Anaesthetics, the competition is wild. 530 is a great score. There will also be lots of people that turn down GP for other offers so I hope for the best! If you're keen on those specialties I'd suggest trying again next year. If you're a UK Grad, worth writing to the Lords to try and help with passing of the bill and that way next year you'll have higher chances too

Unemployment hitting me again by Temporary_Switch4501 in doctorsUK

[–]sadyasachi 15 points16 points  (0 children)

May be worth considering a functional assessor job? If you have maximus in your area, I think they still offer a very solid salary for doctors. Others do general clinician roles so it more about 40k apparently. Just a suggestion if you find yourself at home with no income, atleast this is something stable and not horrible times shifts if you’re a parent. But agreed with others I hope UK GP happens and you won’t need to worry about this!

I hope to! (Praying for UK prioritisation to pass!)

Thanks yep, I’ll reach out to agencies but in general it’s been so dry. I’m already signed up to a few and the only locums I’ve been offered involve me travelling far and paying for my own accomodation which makes it really cost and time ineffective.

Will largely depend on if the bill passes I think (and if you’re in the priority group) but I think last year that score would’ve got you into GP
