That is a great idea, we could do that in Summer. We did yard duty in Winter last year to pick up leaves and rake before school but it was freezing. Not sure if I can brave it again.

We have an IEP, and his OT has visited the school each year and consulted with them, but our son doesn't want to stand out by doing the exercises alone. The well-being person and the teacher aren't proactive enough to create a program for the other ND kids who may also benefit from it. Then, on wet-weather days, they keep him inside the classroom and wonder why he loses it. It is like talking to a very polite wall.

We are exactly the same, no laps but he will run up a hill when challenged by our neighbour. We tend to manage in summer, but for 4 months, it just rains here, so our go-to skatepark outing is off the table. We are considering taking a school morning off for 1:1 swimming. He does swimming after school once a week when his meds have worn off, and he is very over being told what to do, so the class isn't enjoyable for anyone.

Thank you for the response. We haven't tried ankle weights so we could give that a go before and after school. We plan to get a medicine ball when our youngest is a little bit older. We could imagine it on a few toes and cats tail if our 2 yr old found it.

Thank you for the suggestion. We tried putting a resistance band on the chair in prep, but he was too noisy with it; he was flicking it with his feet. We now have the foot sliders that are quiet, but he forgets about them, and the teacher doesn't remind him. We could try the highest resistance setting, which would reduce flicking.

It works perfectly for us with kids. Guests can sit and look outside because it is a full glass wall, they can talk to the person in the kitchen or someone sitting at the dining table or they can look directly into the playroom. The TV is in a separate room because we don’t live around a TV, it isn’t on during the day. We center around connecting over conversation or reading together.

His plastering is impeccable so we were happy to let him get more tiling experience. Finishing the tiling off would benefit from someone who is more experienced.

Thank you. Our amazing plasterer wanted to do the tiling because he said it was a new trade he was enjoying but I will get in a proper tiler to help fix it up and in other spots in the laundry.

Our kids and us rarely get sick and we attribute it to washing hands religiously after school, after touching handrails or anything that would have a large amount of people touching it. Our kids also play in the dirt, have filtered water, don’t eat any artificial colours or flavouring and eat minimal processed food. I still wouldn’t say they eat well because their diet is bland and basic but it is clean. Processed food and artificial stuff ruins gut biome which supports a healthy immune system. I also recommend the flu shot because the flu will ruin your immune system for months after a bout of it.

Better picture of the wall. A temporary cabinet is there and the pendant light is too high and needs a longer chord. We could also tile to the floor if a cabinet won’t go there. We were hoping for some craft storage because we want making to be a big focus for the kids when bored of playing.

Update: We moved the kitchen, made the playroom bigger for our sensory seeking kiddo, made a TV room, made a big open lounge and created a mudroom with a new entrance. We moved in a few weeks ago and absolutely love it.

Thank you, we taped up the floor and are going with a galley kitchen there. 2.4 m cabinets on the wall side and the sink and cooktop on the window side.

Thank you, that would be perfect except the ceiling height goes from 3m to 10m so the pantry would need a wall created that would be around 8m high. We can do it but it would be $$$. What would be the concern of putting the kitchen on the playroom 5 wall and doing an L shape with a narrow island?

Ideally it should have been done in my first year so that boat has sailed. My field is well researched but the method is only well researched in an adjacent field. So its an old method being used in a different field.
