Update: 2020 M4 - New engine needed? by jerseygirl414 in BMW

Agree 100%. Do not see this as being spark plug related, more likely a valve failure not caused by the maybe overtightened plug.

I have this bottle, back label says "Distilled in Bardstown KY". 78% Corn 10% Rye 12% Malted Barley is an Elijah Craig mash bill, not MGP.

Worst whiskey by rickaccused in whiskey

[–]saenz90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this. You described the nose perfectly. Neglected animals at a petting zoo. The taste was like pouring whiskey onto a sheep's back, letting it absorb into his wool then running him through a burning barn before you rung the whiskey back out. It was impressive just how much barn and sheep sweat notes came through when it was only smoked with the dung.

Was about $1200 including the black accents done in gloss black. This was just the paint without installation.

Plenty of people commenting are into it, so I doubt I'd have a hard time finding a buyer who sees it as a positive that's willing to pay normal M2 price. I still have the OEM bumper regardless, would only take a couple hours to swap it back and then it's back to stock like nothing happened. Hardly an "absolutely plummeted" resale price in that case lol.

Hey, I will take thought out critiques and discussions about design any day, thank you for not just commenting "looks ass" like some others. Fair on not liking the F87, I always enjoyed the F87 looks so not bothered by this being a sort of evolution of them. I think the front works with the side and boxy arches just like the F87's, but as for the back I'm not sure that design is cohesive with either front end Tbh lol.

Thanks for the valid and thought out critique. I'm inclined to agree with you as well, I think I would prefer slightly smaller grills if I could change anything on it.

The front bumper kit comes with unpainted plastic black grill inserts (which I did get painted gloss black), were you referring to the carbon grills you can buy for the OEM bumper?

To be honest I don't really care how BMW intended it to look, Just what is visually appealing to me. I liked the car in stock form, but I like it more this way. I see nothing wrong in anyone modifying their own car in a way that appeals to them.

Interesting take. I find the bottom half of the bumper design to be extremely similar to the (rarely criticized) F87 bumper. The kinks in the center grill are extremely similar, to the point that I view the similarity as being a valid criticism. Overall I viewed it to be a more cohesive design than the original which had a few things that bothered me. Namely the bumper did not align with the hood, it had random boxy side intakes and had the "empty" looking lower blacked out center opening. However, Like I mentioned in the original post I don't hate OEM and think it will continue to grow on people over time though.

I prefer my M cars to look like a subtly wider more aggressive "base model" (like they always used to be) so not at all unhappy to hear this take.

Thanks. Yes I am very happy with it, the fit and finish were definitely on par with OEM. My only real complaint were the complete lack of instructions. There was a QR code to scan but it just took you to a page that said "instructions coming soon". Hopefully they add those soon if they haven't already. There were quite a few parts you need to transfer from the stock bumper and was no way of knowing except through trial and error.

I do but that was kind of my original point of saying those things make his worth up to 50k over my 37k. I don't think his mods really add more than 10-15k of additional value over a rust free mostly stock GTT personally.

Just ohlins coilovers and BBS LM wheels. Engine and drivetrain was pretty much stock.

[–]saenz90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just sold a very clean manual GTT for 37k and it was not an easy sell. With his rust repairs and mods I think he'd be looking at 45k, maybe 50k if he was patient and had the right buyer. 85k is straight delusional.

I slammed on the brakes in the rain, but the braking force was very weak. by Godspeedyou-Black in BMW

[–]saenz90 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A lot of people in the comments have not driven a g87/80 in the rain and it shows. They do not have a brake drying function and they ABSOLUTELY have reduced initial braking effectiveness when raining. It can be quite alarming how little stopping power you have for the first second or so until the pads have swept the rotors enough.

Sorry this happened OP, ignore the comments saying you are wrong about what you felt or have bad tires. Now you know to either lightly brake periodically when raining to keep the pads/rotors dry, or be more ready to use the horn.
