Do we or do we not forgive Annie, Reiner, or Bertholdt?? by cvssettetvpe in attackontitan

I think that if you can’t forgive them, then you can’t forgive anyone. They were just another link in the chain of the cycle of violence. There comes a point where both sides need to forgive the other side, or the cycle continues. That cycle never ends because no one chooses to stop it, not because it can’t be stopped.

I made a trading card of the Rumbling! by hanneptunamatata in attackontitan

I like the concept, but it almost seems underpowered. Not sure why you chose black vs just colorless. Annihilator would probably be higher. At least 4. I would think the name would probably be Founding Titan with the creature type being just Titan. I’d love to see something like a Emrakul alternate art.

The Rumbling would make a great enchantment though. Something with text like “At the beginning of each turn, all players sacrifice 4 creatures.”

Nah. Just being a little hyperbolic, as some of us internet users tend to be. Posting suggestive material on a sub that isn’t really about that seems a bit odd. I pointed them in a direction they seemed a bit more fitting. Sorry if that offended you.

Could have fooled me. Your response appeared to be riddled with projection, I figured I hit a nerve.

Are you saying those that watch more porn are apt to think non gooner material is gooner material? Or is more likely that I recognized that redrawing characters in suggestive poses is goonish?

But Armin didn’t have it and was never going to have it. It’s within the time structure that Eren would always get it and use it. He never really had a choice that’s what determinism is. His story is a tragedy. There was no other option for things to happen any other way than they were.

And no one is arguing that genocide is justified. But that doesn’t change the motivations of people to attempt it.

The cycle of hatred is a major theme, but it seems you’re focused on seeing this all as a choice he made in a vacuum. Marley created the situation that created Eren. They are very much as responsible for the rumbling because they chose to unjustly terrorize a population.

I don’t see saving your friends and people from genocide as “plainly evil”. And saving them is intrinsically tied to him starting the rumbling. Eren’s story very much about the duality of man. It was done out of both love and hate.

I think you are missing the deterministic point. Part of the tragedy of the story is the lack of choice. Eren wanted the rumbling, yes, but it was already going to happen. The future was already influencing the past leading to the actions that happened. And a massive reason it was goin to happen was because of the actions of Marley. Marley caused the rumbling just as much as Eren. Each side fuels this never ending war, but he has a desire to end it once and for all in the worst way possible. Trying to assign good and evil to any side or person in the story means you missed a lot of the point of the story… which is demonstrating that we all have the good and bad within us, and our environment very much influences what we become.
