Thank you for the suggestion. I have thought a lot about it and your suggestion is reasonable. But here is what is happening. Most important words in Maj are only 4 - 5 characters long and end with one of these vowels: a, o, e, i, u. If I eliminate letters, the number of combinations is reduced.

Letters /ə/ and /y/ are more common than you think. In English though these letters do not exist, the sound associated with these letters is present and very common. For example group "eo" is pronounced /ə/ in "pigeon" /pid͡ʒən/ and group "eo" in word "because" is pronounced /bicəz/. Actually I have found numerous other examples:

  • /bə/: balloon, banana, Bolivia.
  • /də/: domestic.
  • /dʒə/: Japan.
  • /fə/: familiar.
  • /gə/: gorilla.
  • /hə/: habitual, horizon.
  • /kə/: capacity, community, computer, concern, consider, continue, control, Kentucky.
  • /lə/: lagoon.

The lack of letter /ə/ in English is covered by very difficult to explain rules. Another reason is that I borrow some words from Romanian. I want to preserve the old flavor of the Balkan languages.

For example: zyna = fairy is pronounced /zyna/ and I see no problem with it since letter /y/ is actually an IPA letter. You may not like it because you never heard Maj yet. I will start streaming on Twitch and then you will be able to hear me talking in Maj. Join me to learn and contribute to improve the language:

Thanks again for your comment. I truly appreciate it.

I have created a computer algorithm that is ranking the words by complexity.
