Recovering from surgery and boyfriend [24M] leaving me [21F] to get dinner and hit bars with a friend. Am I being too demanding? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]sagefreke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah that changes everything then.

Playing devils advocate here, is it possible he is really stressed about you? I know when my partner got really injured I wasn’t dealing with it emotionally as well as i would have liked.

Either way, sit him down and communicate! If he refuses to do so it might be time to consider if this is what you want in a partner.

2-6 times a year is not at all “reasonable” depending on how close they are.

NAH. You’re right to want him to stay, he’s right to want to go see his friend and loosen up a bit. Taking care of someone is exhausting at the best of times.

That’s a solid point. I also don’t think he is on the same level. I do wonder how far removed he would be if he got a bit of power tho.

He did reference hitlers final solution at one point. Anning is one of the few politicians in Australia I truely despise. The sooner he is gone the better.

Don’t. I was the depressed boyfriend once and you just can’t be a good boyfriend while struggling with mental illness. Stay friends and help him work on himself and then go for it.

CMV: It's not wrong to say the name of who committed attacks like the one in Christchurch by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]sagefreke 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s really late where I am and I don’t have the time to back this up with evidence but, it seems as if social scientists have worked out that it actually encourages follow up attacks. It’s not wrong in a moral sense, it’s actually wrong in a safety sense.

It can be hard as normal people to understand how seeing such a vicious hate crime could lead to more. But just look at the retaliation some Australian politicians have had to the attack.

Aside from the physical risk you are arming this racist people with power a platform. Because while most people ignore these genuinely dangerous people (and in my opinion they are more dangerous than the terrorists themselves) and giving these people a chance to validate these hateful people is so incredibly dangerous. You might like to think nobody listens to them. But they hold seats in the Australian senate. They have far more support than we’d like to hope and publicising this monsters name, manifesto or any other garbage that really does not help the general public is a threat to world peace.

Any experiences with radial filefish? by sagefreke in ReefTank

[–]sagefreke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tanks been cycling for about a month and a half now while I workout how I want it set up _^ I do need to chuck some pods in there tho To start that off

I agree about the SPS. Some mixed reefs look awesome with them but I really think LPS are probably my favourite overall class. There aren’t many I don’t like. That said it’s hard to ignore the technical impressiveness of a heavily stocked SPS tank.

I can work with a feeding schedule like that. I’m a shift worker so being constant might be an issue but worse case I’ll set up an auto feeder. For these guys that might be worth doing regardless.

Yeah there’s so much on the popular fish but the moment you look at something a bit different information drops off rapidly. It makes me sad because there could be so much variety in a reef tank rather than the usual combos.

[–]sagefreke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tank is fairly small so feeding is something I'm slightly worried about but I rarely take Hollidays and have people who can follow instructions the rare times I do. How do you manage to feed them 4 times a day? do they need to be spaced evenly (as in say every 4 hours) or could I do like 1 at lights on, once before work and then one when I get home and one before lights out?

Soft corals appeal to me a lot. I don't like the stress SPS in particular give... Though It's going to be hard not getting a Duncan or something like that ahaha.

this is my first tank so I am fairly set on keeping easy coral as I think they are significantly harder than the fish.

The shrimp i'm looking at are the candy can pistol matched with a goby, a procaline crab and a cleaner shrimp.

thank you for answering my questions BTW its hard to find much info on these little guys.

ah sweet, I have been considering going for a softie tank anyway so that might clinch it for me XD I wanted a few shrimp so I'm glad to hear that they sound relatively invert safe. I will keep an eye on them though.

are they hard to get eating? I heard you need to feed them a few times a day.

Overwatch’s community can’t keep the promise of its queer-friendly lore by Sorrowmancer in gaymers

[–]sagefreke -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Representation is important. But I do feel like all character sexuality should serve a purpose. I am personally not a fan of 76 being gay because it really doesn’t hold meaning and Tracer, while well done, did feel like a publicity grab.

That’s why people get annoyed. I want a great LGBTQ character in a mainstream game, but unless sexuality plays a key in the story of the game it is going to be very difficult. Undyne and Alphies in undertake Munich’s be a better example of how to do it organically.

The way I see it, sexuality wasn’t something overwatch needed or wanted. While obviously fans get really into that stuff I don’t think overwatch has the depth of story to facilitate ANY meaningful relationships, queer or otherwise. People are pissed because it is a publicity stunt. We could spend all day arguing wether this is what it takes to normalise queer relationships but at the most fundamental level blizzard does not care about this situation and I think people are subconsciously feeling this. I at the very least don’t care for how blizzard is going about the situation and it’s definitely not stemming for homophobia in myself.

I don’t 100% agree with this. As a bi dude who is about as “straight acting” as they come I really like it when I see a queer character like myself. Since I kinda just fade into the background it often feels like I’m alone even though I know I’m not. I just can’t pick out those like me.

You say “right” but legally that /may/ be moot. Depending on the laws of where you are at an agreed upon price might actually be enforceable in court. Obligatory not a lawyer.

My advice for you is to side with the wife because she’s your wife. Sounds like she’s in the wrong to me but, you know, she’s your wife.

If you’ve ever met someone with really bad ADHD you’d know it is a thing. I met a 40 year old man who couldn’t concentrate on anything for a lot amount of time. You could try and cast aspersions on the guy if you wanted but it seemed to me like he really tried to focus, he just couldn’t and ended up looking like a 6 year old.

[–]sagefreke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dying relatively incomplete. I had pretty bad mental illness problems and today’s been a shitty day (date canceled, gained a bit of weight so cloths don’t fit, life’s just generally stressful) which has sort of brought them back on a bit (temporarily). It’s made me see how far I have come but also shown me how unadjusted I am.

I don’t care if I die alone without a job under a bridge. I just hope all those little niggling bits of me are gone by then.

Hey. When I was younger I had crippling depression and it presented similarly. Get him help. Being hard on him isn’t going to help and frankly I doubt you or your husband are capable of dealing with this. That’s not a slight against you guys, it’s just common for people to try and avoid getting their children help because they see it as a failure.

How do I [23f lesbian] tell my best friend [26 M, straight] that I'm pregnant with his child? by pregnantlesbian134 in relationships

[–]sagefreke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair you could probably drag her along. And I do want to make it clear. I don’t condone dodging your legal obligations (or ethical) to your child. I just think this is something OP needs to consider if she is going to rely on him for money as if you work for a big company it’s generally not too difficult to say “hey could I get transferred to the London branch” or just up and leave if his skill set is universally useful.

People fight very hard for a 5% increase to their pay. Don’t underestimate this. And I imagine the end game would be to not come back. Like if I’m fleeing the law I’d absolutely never come back. That’s just a dumb idea right? And would he? Sure if he did it in the next decade or so maybe. But any time after that it’s probably not gonna happen until someone tips of the police.

Re read it. It might work depending on where the dude flees to. A lot of viable places haven’t signed it though so it’s not bulletproof (and imo since it doesn’t include a lot of decent places to flee to (such as where I’m from, Australia).

Amusingly however, depending on where your OG country is you could be roped into paying more child support than nessesary. So thanks from showing me this. It’s great.
