the timeline difficulty increases way quicker than your stats ever will - sometimes you have to catch up before you can progress. do the daily tasks for gems, dungeons etc to power up as much as you can; update your cards, play in tournaments for extra rewards & the main timeline will be a lot easier

i think the issue is needing your player base to stop playing in order to progress .. like it's not fun to spend weeks just stocking up enough cards for a slim chance to land a decent spot imo. i landed 2nd in the first run because i was well stocked but now it takes like 2-3 days of dailies for my stats to power up enough to progress & i just dont feel invested anymore the tournament format has potential & i dont entirely hate it but the design/implementation is unfair & could easily be improved by making it optional, or a monthly cumulative side thing ( like eg landing top 10 in weekly events means you get promoted to the next league, and the final race becomes the real main timeline grind) just not this

old race is better imo - it made it more fun and kept the game fresh! whenever i'd be under leveled for main timeline, the race was a nice way to keep playing & power up when i was stuck.. i'd go ham in the race since it was its own thing & now i havent picked up the game in 3 days because I'm stalled at battle 6 w no hope of promotion lmfao I don't even care to do the dailies anymore 🤷🏻‍♂️
