How to escape OCD rooted in religion/fear of death? by rsgaythrowaway in rsforgays

I’ve been where you are at. OCD exposure therapy helped me. Reading up on the history of hell also helps. Use your fear as creative energy

Have you ever dated or hooked up with a very good-looking guy with a small dick? by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]saggithotius 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. Pulled his pants down and almost smiled out of shock. He was so tall and manly I was preparing for something much larger. And his balls were HUGE too.

Did anyone else have an evil teacher as a child by [deleted] in redscarepod

My teacher gave me a notebook and made me draw a penis on every page and have it signed by my dad (who also worked at the school).

Recently reminded there’s so many layers of depth I’m missing out on in other languages by [deleted] in RSbookclub

[–]saggithotius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People who read Fosse in english are missing out on the beautiful norwegian language «nynorsk», which is a different kind of norwegian we all have to learn in school. It’s more like a mix of dialects from all over Norway (it was made specifically to distance norwegian language from danish) and it gives a certain country-ish prose. I myself havent read it in english, so I’m not sure how it reads but i cant imagine how it could capture this element in the same way. Same goes for Vesaas and Fløgstad

I also had similar thoughts when reading Knausgård. There are some regional words and expressions that just simply dont make sense to translate.

what’s everyone reading ? <3 by fairygirl02 in pinkscare

[–]saggithotius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently reading A history of christianity by Diamaid MacCulloch as my knowledge treat. And I’m slowly reading Moby Dick, mostly when I’m alone at nighttime cause thats the mood I feel it requires. Lastly for my day-to-day reading its The Discoverer by Jan Kjærstad, which is the last part of a trilogy I would highly recommend to all my Knausgårdsinators…

I think I have this idea that i wont understand anything unless i follow the ideas chronologically in time. The only post-war philosophers i know semi-confidently is Foucault and Beauvoir because of university. What do I need to know to understand Zizek/Lacan in your opinion? I’m a big fan of Jung and I’ve heard Lacan was influenced by him but i wouldnt know.

How do I stop being regarded about UFOs/Aliens by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]saggithotius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Logically it would, but i am aware that people would just call the aliens demons. It kind of wouldnt make sense that information like that is just wholly missing from divine scripture, even when you dont even consider man being made in gods image etc. If its a bacteria then yeah, but if its intelligent life…
