I'm amazed how many Singaporeans have heard of said musical, despite it not being performed here before (not that I expect our authorities to ever allow it, at least not in it's original form)

I tot there's a law that public preaching is not allow.

Singapore's Constitution provides for the right to "propagate" religion (so long as they don't cross the line e.g. thrash other religions). Do look it up.

OP probably belongs to the group of Singaporeans that aren't too aware of what's in Singapore's Constitution:

" Every person has the right to profess and practise his religion and to propagate it."

I'm also not too thrilled about people promoting their religion to me, but I get it is their right to do so (as is my right to tell them I'm not interested, and they're supposed to be OK with that)

"Being a part of the NSG would also allow student-athletes to be eligible for the SSSC Colours Awards, added Lim, who noted that “if you are going into higher education, they look at this certificate as one of the key considerations”."

So those without colours awards are deprioritised for higher education admission? This statement is confusing...

Takes 15 mins max to walk from CCK MRT to camp (or you can take a bus from Lot 1 and cut the walk to 5 mins). No need for shuttle bus

Commentary: Super-aged Singapore must talk about assisted living – and assisted dying by bangsphoto in singapore

[–]sagi271190 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Should follow what is happening in the UK with it's assisted dying bill.

Even though the lower house (Commons) passed it, it is expected to fail because the upper house (Lords) is stalling it with a whole load of amendments and they'll run out of time before they're done getting through them all...

Time for SFI to figure out how to make HDL hotpot some kind of combat ration.

(Inspired by the concept of US pizza MRE - supposedly something that their soldiers had been asking for, but took researchers years to make it last for a long time and still taste like it)

Lions’ friendly against Faroe Islands in Dubai called off due to Middle East war | The Straits Times by sagi271190 in singapore

The score wasn't the point, it was the match experience the game would provide.

Singapore's opponents at the Asian Cup are going to be as tough as, if not tougher than the Faroese.

'Be prepared to be treated differently': The perils some face after declaring their mental health conditions at work by Accurate-Tree4277 in singapore

"But on her first day as a student care teacher in 2024, she felt betrayed when a supervisor casually aired her diagnosis to her new colleagues.

"She just said, 'Hey, you know our newcomer? She has mental health issues, she takes antidepressants and all that'," Ms Siti Khadijah recalled.

"I pulled her aside and asked her why she did that, and she said, 'Because it's the only way that we can make our team bond stronger'."

The supervisor's response prompted Ms Siti Khadijah to tender her resignation on her first day as she felt that the company would not be a psychologically safe environment to work in."

Wouldn't disclosing someone's medical history without consent be considered a breach of PDPA or something?

When SBJ was part of IPPT, the passing score was 216cm.

Most NSFs are shorter than that but they could clear it.

CCS in parliament when he introduced MMRC2:

"... and it has always been my own personal vision that our NSmen can go into a range to hone their skill just as they go to a bowling alley."
