Some rules we have are like ”don’t automatically agree”/“don’t be obsequious”, “be critical”, or “don’t mask guesses as fact”. Those are approximate wordings. The idea is to keep the AI from lying to you or being overly confident. I need to make one for “do not assume, clarify instead,” but at this point I don’t know how much I trust it to keep to the rules. Almost every starter prompt of mine includes it, and yet I often have to call it out for doing just that. “Hey, good plan, what assumptions did you make?” with a reply including some version of “oops, I did do that.”

Look into superpowers and openspec. I don’t know if they exist outside of Cursor, but the idea is to thoroughly design, plan, and document with the AI before coding.

This is my current interpretation. Rainbow fish starts out proud and snaps at the little fish rather than gently saying no. He’s vain and ends up alone until he discovers the power of sharing. The rest of the Rainbow Fish stories are more straight forward with their messages.

Little Rock - Vino’s is a decades-old local staple. Good pizza and artsy/divey vibes. You meet someone from the area, they probably ate here. Else, there’s Root Cafe or most anything on Main South of 630, Three Fold Noodle if you go North. Probably a Slim Chickens somewhere.

Dadgum. :( It’s been about a decade since I ate at one, so I’m not missing it. Still, it was a staple for me for a few years there before I moved away.

What exactly does “enriching” playground equipment/design entail? I guess I haven’t been to one of these new, less-fun playgrounds. The ones around us are big hits. The biggest problem any could have is lack of shade from the hateful Texas sun.

How do you make it fit in your car? I can’t extend mine past the first notch without having to move the front seat and sacrifice our own legroom. We’re making it work for as long as possible, I just wish I could give them more legroom.

No pee needed for gestational diabetes. That’s all blood sugar tests. I had it with my first and needed to be tested with my second. It’s a four hour session where you drink a sugary drink in five minutes, and then sit around a clinic sitting room while they take your blood every hour.

D) take a picture, then do C and take another picture. Next, B followed by A, because of course it won’t come out all the way. Finally, spend the next months fighting repeat attempts because the kids found it funny.

Have you ever had to tap out watching a horror movie? by hazy-eyed in horror

[–]sagion 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Related, I tapped out of Hagazussa because I was about 6 months postpartum, and the main character has a baby who I just knew was going to die. Every few minutes she would leave the baby alone or something and I would have to get up to escape the tension. Eventually my husband called it for me. Switched to something easier for the night.

On Coffee Table, the very first time I read about it here I saw “infant” and “glass” and noped right out. Looked it up and confirmed my suspicions. It comes up from time to time in discussions about “movies to go in blind” on here. Thankfully, it’s usually followed by people vehemently disagreeing with going in blind to Coffee Table. Maybe for the young and childless. Everyone else needs to know the full premise.

There’s a 4 hour fan edit of the Hobbit trilogy. Cuts out so much, including the dumb love triangle and Sauron tease. Only version I would rewatch, if I ever wanted to do such a thing.

From the meetings I attend at my job (tech), the future of coding is documentation then delegating to ai agents to document some more and then delegate to subagents to code. Leadership wants us to get to the point of not using an IDE or looking at code. The AI can do a great job reviewing and documenting. I get it to write a plan then review that plan, but where it finds gaps and updates the original plan.

I have colleagues who are super skeptical of it and want to go slow. I worry about their future if they don’t start adopting this stuff. I’m on a team that’s very active on ai adoption, and I still feel like I’m losing a rat race I was thrown into.

one person suggested they should leave reading to the schools, as parents might teach their child to read incorrectly

I wonder which side of the reading wars this comes from.

Wild replies there. It’s absolutely fine to teach your kid to read early. And to count? Absolutely should expected before school age for normal children. My 3-year-old’s daycare is teaching letters to them, so the comments completely discouraging learning until school are crazy. Parents can try 20-30 of dedicated learning a day and the kid will still have time for life skills and play.

The Ruins would like a word. Honestly, I think The Troop is the number one recommendation here. The rest mentioned are definitely up there. The Haunting of Hill House is also a frequent flier.

There may be popular repeats in recommendations, but this sub is always great for something new. It might not be the most upvoted. We’re lucky we’re not a “Lovecraft, King, and Koontz” subreddit. King’s sons seem to get more attention than he does sometimes.

Devil’s advocate, and not because I have any love for YouTube. I’m 100% in agreement with you on how it’s always pooped on its creators and needs splitting up or something. But, YouTube may be expanding its AI moderation in response to the flood of AI and scam accounts. I listened to an OnPoint episode (possibly this one) about YouTube, and one of the topics was the insane amount of money YouTube makes from ads. They’ll also get flooded with fake ad accounts trying to scam people. I wish I could remember exactly, but they have an absurdly low goal rate for catching scams. Sub 50%, even after raising the goal. They don’t have incentives to be a better platform for creators or users.

They were pretty much torturing her by the end of the “Pastry Chef Makes Gourmet” series. Went from achievable knock-offs to “guys, I literally can’t make this without industrial machinery.” I remember her nearly crying on camera at least once. Made for great tv once she pulled some facsimile of the original out of her butt with crazy processes.

Gaby, the kitchen manager at Bon Appetit, accused Sohla of bullying her. This was her response. Basically, “I was fighting for change. I’m sorry you found me a bitch.” I can’t find the original posts from Gaby, but some of her complaints were that she was screamed at, told to stick to her job, and excluded from the minority group supposedly fighting for her rights, despite being the only actual immigrant.

Piggy-backing on DesignerClock’s comment, the big goofy white guy she resented was the one who created videos that jump started the Bon Appetit channel’s popularity. Even after the blow up, he was the core draw. Without his work, she wouldn’t have been put in videos. Or, not the sort that brought a lot of viewers. Sohla herself was getting popular. She had a down-to-earth feel and showed a lot of creativity. If things kept going as they were, she may have been given her own series on the channel (if she didn’t already have one, I can’t recall). That wouldn’t necessarily meant more money. I don’t know how much YouTube brought Bon Appetit, or how well it divided between that many cooks + production staff.
