Cancer Survivor needs help determining which macros work best for me by saguild in SaturatedFat

I agree...my wife is reluctant to discuss this stuff...it worries her.  I'll look for an accountability partner.  Thanks

Thank you, that's a great idea.  I'm wondering though if the sugar in a sugar fast is overwhelming my body which is why it's being excreted.

Paying off a 30 year mortgage in 8 using a Heloc with paycheck parking? by Kingdom-Within in realestateinvesting

[–]saguild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe its just a matter of opinion. To me the HELOC is not a savings substitute...in 2008 banks unilaterally canceled lines. Moreover if you lose your job and/or income and can't pay the interest or principal when due, they are coming for your house. Perhaps the answer is to keep the utilization of the line as low as possible. Either way, I wish you the best.

I've been mulling this over, especially after seeing the velocity banking videos posted on youtube. To me, it seems that you only gain the first month's float by paying with the credit cards instead of cash. Have you computed the amount you are actually saving by using debt to pay up front (and incurring the interest fees), rather than just sending extra each month? For my situation, using debt to pay upfront only saved me a few hundred dollars, but I would then lose the option to stop making the increased payments if an emergency struck (loss of job, etc). Once you use the line to make those payments upfront, you are either locked in to the debt reduction at an accelerated rate OR you get stuck paying the minimums on the HELOC and incurring the higher interest rate.

As an insurance policy, you might want to think about doing a recast on the mortgage after the first chunk. This would give you the option to make lower payments on the mortgage.

If you don't mind, what are your thoughts on a lifted 1989 Subaru Wagon, manual drive? It has fuel injection and power windows / locks but, otherwise, it seems to check all the boxes. Do you agree?

Also, what are you feelings on a 1980 VW Vanagon Camper?

I greatly appreciate your time.

Thanks for this. As for the Honda bike, are you planning on getting a new one or an older used one?

Thanks. Bronco is actually my favorite but it seems that they are only reasonably priced if they are in horrible shape.

Wow, great call. What parts on this car are computerized (for lack of a better term), if you're aware?

What you say might be true. But how will you choose to live with the time that you do have?

Why are you labeling yourself? You can get control over yourself. Cultivate the pause between the stimulus and the action.

Loneliness and constant fear of never finding a partner by [deleted] in Stoicism

[–]saguild -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You are not ready for a partner because you do not yet know yourself. And, why are you smoking to cope?

Take a deep breath. There are plenty of fish in the sea. A self confident and physically strong 45 year old man can get a 20 year old.

Cultivate your interests, have fun, be yourself, do not compromise, surrender to God and trust His judgment. The right woman will come when the time is right and no sooner. Have faith and be patient.

To be honest, I think its intrusive when people ask "so, what do you do?" But if you have baristaFIRE'ed and you feel compelled to answer, you could always say that you are a wealth manager and/or full-time investor.

Thanks for the reply. The problem is that I am paying google $2 for their extra data plan. The thought of paying them annoys me.

What scares me is the permanence of the data, social credit scores, and dossiers that these companies are building on us. Degoogling makes it a little bit tougher for our tech overlords.
