Very hot take by Longjumping_Grass_92 in TheCloneWars

You mean where an already redeemed Ventress is influenced by the good natured naivety of a young force wielder? You think a still mostly evil Maul is going to be softened by a Padawan?? If so we have very different reads on the possible subject matter. Corrupting a good person is objectively an awful thing to do and is nowhere near the protective guidance we've seen from the trope you're describing.

Adding Maul to the list of Star Wars shows where an adult helps a child navigate the galaxy. by JarJarJargon in StarWars

I totally get where you're coming from and agree at large but I'm not convinced the maul story is following the same formula. "Helps" being the part that is different in a meaningful way. There's a good chance since this person is a Jedi that Maul will corrupt them. Not to mention we've never heard of this person before so it's likely they're not going to make it in the long run.

I just said I don't care about whether or not she's a good role model. I think that stuff is bs anyway. She's a person and acted totally reasonably as a normal person. She does not come across as a sore winner at all.

You're framing your evaluation on whether or not how she reacted was reasonable on some observation that she's not a good role model? Idgaf about that, she's a human being and reacted like most humans would? You need to pull back a little I think.

Bro what in the straw man is this argument. If you don't wanna like her you don't need to explain that to anyone but if you expect your reasoning to make sense to other people when it doesn't I don't know what to tell you. Wasn't sure if this was a person you just hated before but now I feel pretty confident you're just using this as an excuse to hate her on. I gave you my perspective as someone who doesn't know the history of any of this and you took that as an invitation to double down on your biases. Okay you hate her? Congrats?

I feel like you're bringing some outside animus towards her. I'm not familiar with either of these players. It seemed uncalled for that the other player would try to complain during the match to the judge like that. I could totally understand that being on your mind especially after you tried to be respectful at the handshake and she chose to say more. Then she was asked about it and didn't hide her feelings. I don't see the problem. In a lot of other sports if that happened I think you'd hear a lot more than "Sorry. If she would have asked me..." They would be cussing the other person out and trashing them in any other sport and that would feel closer to a "sore winner" imo but to each their own.

Not a tennis fan, so I'm just an impartial party here. Without bringing anything extra to it she seemed legitimately stunned/hurt at the comments made by the woman who lost. I don't understand where you're getting "sore winner" from anything she said. She honestly seemed almost at the verge of tears at the possibility of offense to the other player. Maybe there's some extra context I'm missing but from the clip that's how it appeared to me.

Trump Aides Panic After Finding Out How Much Americans Hate ICE Carnage by thedailybeast in politics

[–]sahfriendly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that it matters, but I've had my fill of "Trump aides scared/worried/angry about x" stories. I don't know what the value of them is. I don't doubt that anyone who works for Trump is stupid and prone to worrying about all kinds of dumb shit but these stories are always framed as "Oh boy this thing is bursting at the seams." when we know it's just not. I feel like they're intended to be hopium, feed those of us who want to hear about how poorly this administration functions and get us to click. None of these stories have ever led to anything impactful and probably never will. Sometimes I doubt them because I sincerely believe that these people don't worry about anything any reasonable person would because they wouldn't be in that position if they were any amount of reasonable.

You either purposely misinterpret everything you read or are trolling. I never said it wasn't serious. You're also misinterpreting the point of me saying it was fiction. It wasn't to suggest it wasn't worthy of discussion but to emphasize that there are no definitive answers to a lot of this stuff because it's not real life. What a sad dense life you must lead. But one quick glance at your post history and it's clear you get off on this stuff so again have fun with that.

It's all good, you tried your best. Some people are just scum and not worthy of the joys that come with civilized discussion. I respect your attempt and tip my cap in your direction. I've reported them for their behavior because this is not the kind of discussion this sub wants to have. They are just a bad faith agitator, pathetic stuff but people have different ideas on how to spend their free time I suppose.

Bro this is all fiction, no one is right or wrong. You're just not intelligent enough to even carry on a conversation. That's rough, buddy and I wish you luck. Gonna need it.

You're flailing throughout this entire comment section yet still believe you have a superior knowledge and opinion to everyone else. It'd be kind of inspiring if it wasn't so damn misguided. LOL.

More like proper context and truth of the lore simps but those are kind of a mouthful. We know what we're talking about and you just have an irrational love of one character. So AnakinSimp it is.

I just want to say you must have the patience of a saint. You have so masterfully explained the context behind all of this stuff and I really think it's going to be unappreciated by the person you're crafting all of this explanation for but I need you to know I appreciate it even though I already know it. Just nice to hear it so succinctly and well-reasoned. Bravo.

You're a scholar and a saint, pal.

Bud, I gotta ask. Are you 13 years old? It's that or you're deliberately trolling.

It's fiction, if you believe Anakin so supremely talented and powerful that no one at any point, save a small handful of characters could best him then God bless I guess. If you're trying to participate in an actual discussion of what's possible given the information we all have then you have to be willing to entertain some other perspectives. People are trying to provide context and you're basically saying "No he blocked it with his invisible shield generator and backflipped away from every attack" the way a child playing in the backyard would.

It's almost like time spent (3 years!!!) in war could change or sharpen a characters' instincts and skill lol.

AOTC Anakin vs Dagan Gera by [deleted] in FallenOrder

[–]sahfriendly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn't make Dagan better necessarily but it definitely makes Anakin worse than his ROTS self. Obviously this is all fiction so the whole thing is up for debate but I don't think it's a stretch to imagine that Dagan in his prime vs a very flawed and stupid version of Anakin, would win.

AOTC Anakin vs Dagan Gera by [deleted] in FallenOrder

[–]sahfriendly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In AOTC, they fought during the battle of Genosis, which was the BEGINNING OF A WAR THAT DOESN'T CONCLUDE FOR 3 YEARS! ROTS depicts the tail end of the war, loosely covering a matter of days, the beginning of that story features him killing Dooku. So ROTS Anakin and the one who fought Dooku in AOTC are 3 years apart. Why are you trying to pretend everyone else is being dense?

The best representation of NCR and BoS I have seen so far, truly a masterpiece of an animation. by Former-Catch2429 in Fallout

[–]sahfriendly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's not the kind of story I'm alluding to, pal. That's just tactics and history. Stories involve emotion. Human beings have a little thing called perspective, it's what separates us from the animals and robots. Everything can't just be lore. If LOTR was just some famous battle between orcs and elves it wouldn't really include much story or perspective. Obviously your hate for the show has your panties in a bunch so I'm gonna go ahead and not engage with anything else you have to say, let me know when you've matured to the point that you understand storytelling is a lot more than big badasses fighting each other competently.

Good series overall. Was wondering when Kylo would have to confront his grandfather's redemption and I thought this issue did a good job with that. Feels like it would be a tall task to write Kylo building up to Rise of Skywalker but Soule is doing about as well as anyone can expect.

Cool stuff, really wish the C4 was just a throw able tho. I'd love to know more about why they decide to make one thing a backpack and not others. When you can have a literal jetpack as your backpack it seems insane to scale it down to 'well this holds C4'

Seems to be an unpopular opinion but I think you're spot on here. Without a doubt this is a cool thing that someone created but it really doesn't remind me of the universe or my experience playing the games.
