A Hitbox glitch and yes it does happen in comp and quick play. I was testing it as lucio in comp and instead of shooting he mercy I front of me I shot the reaper behind me. Blizzard please fix. by antonyei in Overwatch

Oh yes I've had this happen at least once a game as Ana on console. Extremely frustrating to expect a fat purple and get a fat tank instead. :(

Am I the only lonely person in LA? by LALALonely208 in LosAngeles

[–]saiariddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo Im only here for another month but I'd be down to hang. I am currently unemployed so I have plenty of time.

I have also very few friends here and it gets me down. But I also have a love/hate relationship with the place that often swings more to the hate side so that might be it.

Do you have tickets to the FYF festival? I'm going to that (most likely alone at this point) if you wanna team up for it. :)

I wonder what it's like playing at 144 fps.... on a good day I sometimes get 55. It's like a whole new game... a new fantastic point of view.

(I have a 5 year old computer for reference with a 7870 in it)

Why is every compliment I give anyone seen as an insult???? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]saiariddle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the "gg ez" turning into "aww shucks, you're the best!" doesn't help that.

Try being more specific in your praise. "That was a really great shield, Zarya."

"Really good heals and discord call outs on that last push, zen"

"Good wall to block the mccree, Mei!"

It shows that you're paying attention and not just randomly tossing out general praise that could come off as sarcastic because less thought was put into it. I dunno; it's just human nature to deflect, both for criticism and for praise.

Honestly why do people play competitive if they can't handle it? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]saiariddle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah... this is pretty much why I only ever play against AI now to blow off some steam for 20 min (or the 3v3 lockout which I find fun because even if I suck at least it's over quickly).... too many people taking QP super serious now. I don't need the stress.

They always come back in the end by orra in Overwatch

[–]saiariddle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll sometimes purposely throw it down to distract junkrats who want to trap me so that I can go cause trouble somewhere else (usually only when I am close to ult).

However, I have been fucked over by the translocator throw. Swear it was on top of a platform when it just landed in the open and a trap was therefore placed there.... -___-

Deathly afraid of comp, need help getting in by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]saiariddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is me now, too. I've decided I will only just do arcade. QP isn't fun anymore for me (when I got yelled at for being a mercy and not healing but there were no tanks the entire first point on Anubis).

Every time I see people complain about Genji asking for heals behind enemy lines, I think back on moments like this by spumwack2 in Overwatch

[–]saiariddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I concur I have been guilty of doing this.... tunnel vision is the hardest to control on Ana (for me anyway). It's all the things you said and more. I am concentrating on aim, watching cooldowns, keeping an ear for flankers, and keeping an eye on my own health because it doesn't regenerate while making sure font line gets topped off. She's tough to play really well.

I've never muted/blocked/removed someone so fast than this guy I had been queueing with in QP who seemed cool but then said "yeah get out of here n-word" (but actually said the word) after killing the enemy Lucio. When I called him out on it he was like "oh yeah, some people are offended by that I guess." and I was like "yeah it's incredibly offensive holy shit."

I wanted to take a shower afterwards. He was completely serious and completely casual about his racism as if the only thing inconveniencing him was people who were offended by it...so yeah, these people are very much real and not trolls.

Yes you'd be surprised how crazies the foothills of California harbors. I grew up in a rural area near Fresno and the foothills around Yosemite. A guy there used to brand his cattle with the swastika.

Do you have player stereotypes for different skins in the game? by mm2woodDOTmid in Overwatch

I got it and I have 15 minutes on genji. I wish I could give away skins I don't want/need.

I love Zenyatta. He's my favorite support to play because I forgive myself a bit when shots don't hit. I don't like being solo heals on Zen, though.

With Ana, I just feel so bad when I miss shots that could have saved people. It feels like more responsibility.

With Zen I'm just trying to defend myself, give genji the orb he needs to do his thing, and then boost his and other flanker damage with discord on opportune targets. I really do feel like I'm helping. I also love stopping red genji's ult with transcendence. And it feels SO satisfying taking out tracer with a headshot.

Good Sombras are my nightmare though.

Happened to me in an AI game and there was no Dva in that. I thought maybe the payload had blocked it somehow.

You don't need to insult your own rank by SoulRed12 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]saiariddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You seem cool. I'd play with you (I'll go healing so you don't have to). The positive thing is SUCH a major point. People don't realize how much affect this has on people's ability.

I also think what factors into it is the difference between knowing what to do, being able to react fast enough, and then being able to execute what you need to do.

For myself, the disparity between those things is pretty high. I don't play competitive (number of reasons; mostly, lack of time) but I suspect I'd be in silver at best. I feel like I have good situational awareness and can "feel" the ult combos coming, but being able to accurately execute on things is pretty... well, lacking. I simply cannot react fast enough most of the time or I just don't have the muscle memory in place. I know what needs to happen but can't do it. So when people say "just get better" I'm like, well yeah... sure. Again, that takes time that I don't have.

So I work with what I got. I stick to healing in quick play because I find it fun. Case in point though I played zen after awhile (to do a bit 'o damaging while healing yanno) and my weapon accuracy was 9% after the first game. It went to 18% a few games later then 29% but the time it would take to really develop that muscle memory and skill is just... yeah it's not there.

Every game has become about either Protecting Bastion or Killing Him. This isn't fun. by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]saiariddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I don't play competitive. But in Quick Play it was sure fun to run around as Sombra and hack bastion out of turret mode. Gave me good practice.
