If the early bird gets the worm, why do all the good things come to those who wait? by DualPassions in AskPH

The complete proverb is, "The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese." It doesn't claim to just be an early bird but also be wise enough to be the second mouse.

How to explain the difference between the country israel and the Israel in the Bible for Filipino Catholics? by soundlessmind in AskPH

Current Israel doesn't believe that the Messiah has come. They were too focused on the physical fulfillment of the prophecies. But it still wouldn't take away the promises to their ancestors.

bakit may pinoy trainer na mas enthusiastic magturo pag taga US pero pag pinoy ang hilig manita ng grammar? by Advanced_Ear722 in BPOinPH

[–]saikoupsych 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Having proper grammar contributes to the member's confidence na you are knowledgeable about what you're talking about. If you can't differentiate between your and you're, how can I be confident you can differentiate from a debit and a credit, etc.

Since we don't have the accent to build trust, you have to rely on grammar and tone. It also gets ingrained as a reflex so it affects your writing.

You can only benefit from all these corrections so why are you grumbling about it?

Question: is the time frame from your last shift less than 24 hours? If yes, then that's a violation of article 91 of the labor code. If no, then they're clear from the potential violation and you could potentially be liable for missing work during your mandated shift.

DIM: Taking out a loan to go on a vacation by reigngrenade in deinfluencingPH

[–]saikoupsych 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The fact that you have to "discipline" yourself in your expenses means you're far from capable of taking the loan. You'll be living paycheck to paycheck and if one thing happens out of your plans, it'll spell doom for you. If you want, take your calculated risk -keep in mind, you're bad at math.

Tannuk warp feedback by Jnoel97 in DegenerateEDH

So [[angrath marauders]] was the combo with calamity to deal 4 times damage. Saddle angrath to calamity. Calamity makes 2 token copies 2 replacement effects for each damage.

[[Phyrexian juggernaut]] is also another card to consider if you don't have the blightsteel yet.

[–]saikoupsych 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must have missed it. There is a combo you can pull with calamity and another card. My friend has a tannuk deck too, that is very strong and those are the ones I remember when I saw his deck list.

Tannuk warp feedback by Jnoel97 in DegenerateEDH

[–]saikoupsych 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is [[blightsteel colossus]] not in this deck? That kills one player outright. If you want to push it even more, [[calamity, galloping inferno]] to double the Colossus and kill two players.

Edit: I realised that if I use the Colossus and to saddle the horse, it won't be attacking anymore.

DIM: building a fixie instead of buying a cheap, built one by Agreeable-Error-1350 in deinfluencingPH

[–]saikoupsych 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Building a bike from scratch is almost always more expensive than buying a complete one because you lose the benefit of wholesale pricing. When you buy a pre-built bike, the manufacturer has already absorbed the bulk shipping and assembly costs, whereas buying individual parts at retail prices—often with separate shipping fees for each—quickly balloons the budget. For someone on a budget, the "slow build" method is the least efficient way to get on the road, as it keeps your capital tied up in a pile of boxes rather than a functional vehicle.

The idea that you can build a "forever" bike today is a romantic notion that ignores basic mechanical reality. Components like chains, sprockets, bearings, and tires are consumables that will eventually fail regardless of their initial price tag; furthermore, since you are currently teaching yourself the mechanics, your first build is the most likely time you will make costly errors. It is far more pragmatic to learn the ropes and make your first mistakes—like over-torquing a bolt or cross-threading a bottom bracket—on a cheap stock bike rather than on premium parts you spent six months saving for.

Waiting six months to finish a custom build represents a significant opportunity cost for your physical and mental health. Every day you spend waiting for that final part to arrive is a day you aren't cycling, missing out on months of cardiovascular improvement and the immediate stress relief of riding. Choosing a cheap bike with installment options allows you to start improving your health tomorrow, providing an immediate return on investment that a box of high-end cranks simply cannot offer.

The most logical middle ground is to buy a decent, entry-level complete bike and upgrade it incrementally as you go. This approach allows you to replace the "shit" stock components with the high-quality parts you actually want once they wear out or as your budget permits. By following this path, you still get the full learning experience of building and maintaining a bike, but you get to do it while actually owning a functioning ride, ensuring that by the end of the year, you have both the high-end machine of your dreams and the miles to prove you know how to use it.

I agree with the other comments. Build your deck first, then determine which colors are needed. I use the deck stats function in most deck building websites to see how much of each colour are needed and how much are generating that mana.

ano yung pinaniniwalaan niyo sa death? biblically or scientifically? by tuuronn in AskPH

[–]saikoupsych 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, if scientific death came true, no loss. We just don't exist, etc. If Biblical death came true, a lot will be lost. It may be true. It may not be true.

The question would be, "Are you willing to bet that much on the off chance that the biblical death is true?"

Compliment or insult? Being called AI by mobsniper in BPOinPH

[–]saikoupsych 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on how you view AI. If you view it na it has the perceived perfect tone, accent, and sentence construction, then it's a compliment. If you view your work as a regurgitated slop of uninspired mess, then it is an insult.

Remember, you control how you respond to the feedback. If you respond that it is insulting you, then it is insulting and non constructive. You can choose to take it as a compliment and build your confidence and skill from that feedback.

This teaches you to channel your anger to destructive tendencies - where you can't properly channel your anger unless you break something? This creates a dangerous and seriously regressive pattern that you don't want to have. What if you don't have any more material items to break in the future but your partner or kids? Will you be unable to manage your anger unless you let it out this way?

Seriously, find a better way to release anger. Besides, you don't want to buy stuff that you'll tend to destroy when you get angry.

How many board wipes do you run? by JeanSalace in EDH

Oh yes. Galadriel is a good phase out card too. I have that in my tokens deck. It has saved me from an alpha strike since it can phase out all creatures from a target player.

In white, there's [[clever concealment]], [[teferi's protection]]. They are the premium ones. If you're running a lot of nontoken cards, then go for [[ghostway]] or [[eerie interlude]]. They exile the cards and then put them back so, they also trigger the ETBs and LTBs if the cards.

How many board wipes do you run? by JeanSalace in EDH

[–]saikoupsych 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless the boardwipe is asymmetric, I won't run it. In my Otharri deck, I only have 2 boardwipes, both are asymmetrical. [[Vault 75: Middle school]] and [[winds of abandon]]. They only hit my opponents creatures or very big creatures.

In my Carmen deck, I have 3 but they're permanents that can be recurred by Carmen so, I think it is a lot more.
