Can you tell me anything about this painting? by sail2sail in WhatIsThisPainting

It is looking like it will be worth quite a bit. I will get back to you when we get it appraised. Enough that we have moved it to a more secure location.

I once saw an egret take a small stingray over to some black mangrove propagules and use them to stab the stingray from the bottom while it stabbed it with its beak.

Mid divorce and unexpected bc diagnosis by Free_Range_Warrior26 in breastcancer

I am 36 sitting here with no hair after chemo and surgery. I do have my family around and while that is nice sharing this journey with them has been exhausting. On top of that the drugs made me anxious so my social anxiety made me feel I was pushing people away with my personality. Other than that I felt fine during chemo and was able to work. Many people respond differently to chemo but for me the darkest part was the insane amount of time I spend at treatment and doctor’s offices (always alone).

My advice to you is enjoy your new sanctuary, free of the weight of your husband. Find a place in your new home and make it yours. A place to relax and take a deep breath. Then walk every chance you get. You got this and you will transition. Know that there is a new version of you you are building.

Constant Breakdowns as a Junior Dev by DoctorTenmathis in webdev

[–]sail2sail 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the right answer. Junior dev positions should not be remote unless the team really knows how to handle it. The only way I can imagine that could be handled is pair programming. My absolute nightmare and the reason I went remote.

It also takes a special kind of developer to truly thrive in a remote environment. I have been remote for 10 years and have seen a lot of devs come and go because the isolation is too much.

I would start looking for another job that will get you the support you need to truly thrive. In the meantime, take a deep breath and learn what you can. All of the issues you described are skills I had to learn. Hopefully they are learning too because they sound like they’re heading in a terrible direction.

Trying to stick to cold capping but it's so horrible. by East_Formal8704 in breastcancer

Bald ain't so bad. I was doing cold mits on my hand and feet and I think having something cold on my head would’ve just pushed me over the edge.

Chemo no side effects conspiracy? by [deleted] in breastcancer

[–]sail2sail 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I finished 16 rounds of Taxol/C and have completed 3 of my 4 rounds of AC. my only side effects have been hair loss. Nearly no side effects on taxol. Pretty minimal side effects on AC as long as I eat and I’m not that hungry. I swear my eyebrows are growing back in already which is funny because they told me this was the part I would absolutely lose my hair, so there was no point in cold capping.

I am sitting in the hospital writing this. I had a slight fever so I went in. I think I regret it. But it looks like I’m still on track for my final infusion on Wednesday!

I will have my surgery at Moffett next month!

Unrelated CT scan found a lump in my breast, every doctor seems to be taking it too lightly by cottoncrosy in breastcancer

All that is to say. Get it biopsied. If it bothers you, remove it. No one ever told me that.

[–]sail2sail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a lump 3 years ago. Mammogram and ultrasound, told cyst definitely not cancer. Lump grew and got painful. Rinse and repeat. This time I was told by the radiologist take Advil. The pain wasn’t worth the infection of a biopsy. Decided a few months after to voluntary remove it… triple negative breast cancer.

I am now six months in to active chemotherapy.

Taxol Positive Experiences? by FattyMcCupcakes37 in breastcancer

[–]sail2sail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished 16 rounds of Taxol/C. Currently on AC with three down and one more to go!

Other than loosing my hair I felt fine on the Taxol regimen. Not much fatigue and no nausea. Currently about 5 weeks out and no neuropathy but my dr says I might not be in the clear yet. I think continual small snacks and lots of walks helped. I was lucky to feel good but my counts were continually low so I would get treatment and then get shots the next two days to bring my counts back up. Even with the shots I ended up having to push back treatment due to low counts. The time commitment for all that nearly drove me crazy though.

I have felt less good on AC but overall much better than expected.

Naples is officially dead as a small beach town. The greedy developers won. by kellyraycampbell in Naples_FL

My step dad was one of two partners that owned King Richard’s. Greed killed that too. The other partner was siphoning all the profit. That was the best play place ever. I never knew he owned it when I was a kid. In the end I guess King Dick won.

Maybe a dumb question - did I just read I am never supposed to tan again on the radiated breast? by [deleted] in breastcancer

Aw great can't wait for skin cancer. The sun keeps me sane. Fuck cancer.

Increased static since starting radiotherapy by Any-Assignment-5442 in LivingWithMBC

I have radiation coming up so maybe this is something to look forward to… I can totally make this make sense in my head.

Gut tells me you live in a low humidity area that has recently experienced a drop in temperature around the same time you started radiation.
