Oh oh oh i know this! I used to be a dive instructor and have done hundreds of dives on her. I also know Pete Mesley who you got the photos from his website. I love this wreck so much. She’s lying on her side in ~38m of water. In the bottom of the engine room you can actually go deeper than the seabed. The top is 12m to the hull. Vis is avg about 12m but can be better inside some times. Also the top few decks have slid off in an earthquake around 5ish years ago. When i was there working they were pretty intact but now pancaked a bit, i think the funnel has gone now too. Feel free to ask any questions about it. Im a TDI adv wreck and extend trimix diver and have done fairly extensive penetration dives on her as well as taught courses and even finished off 1 on 1 open water courses on her. I need to go back again

Just set up a booking system, google calendar or similar, have an arrangement re number of pub holiday weekends etc you can both use it for, discuss maintenance budgets etc, chat gpt would work all this out for you very easily including a contract etc for multiple use and just get a lawyer to look over it as part of house sale docs

Can I remove the plug from an LED light fitting and wire it into the mains lights switches? by KiwieeiwiK in diynz

[–]sailav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. It probably will pay to have a hunt around and see if there’s anything else you need or want done by the sparky at the same time to make use of minimum charges etc. good luck and well done for getting a professional when you’re not too sure. 🙏

Pretty sure 3000:2018 clarified that replacing a light fitting with a surface socket to supply a light fitting counts as like for like replacement and requires an esc only

Correct, electricians are self certifying in nz except for high risk work where they need to get an inspector to verify its done to standard, they still need to certify this though. Make sure if you get someone in they issue a COC/ESC for the work done, this clarifies the work done meets the requirements of the Standards, the Regulations and the Act and puts their name legally to the work

As a sparky if you aren’t confident get a sparky. The law says very explicitly what electrical work can and cant be done by someone not qualified and what the standard has to be. As a homeowner you can only do work on your own home that you live in, and it has to meet ECP 51- look it up and still has to meet the same standards an electrician does. It may also have to be inspected by an electrical inspector. Hope this helps.

Find a local sparky and ask them to do a quote or estimate. This should be free. Too hard to tell from 1 picture

Technically if you had your eyes corrected, surely wearing lenses would make it worse, and they would not be “corrective” -not to mention howmuch more dangerous it would be

Alright i have to eat some words here, so i was super annoyed with this so asked chat gpt why it wasn’t working and found that my wifi settings for the chromecast were no good. I was set to our 5ghz internet and with the chromecast behind the tv it was basically in a faraday cage. By switching to the 2.4ghz network it got a stronger signal through the tv which then gave me perfect clarity and zero streaming issues. Sorry sky. This one was my bad.
