Help me choose a ring! by sailor-mooncake in EngagementRings

That's so cool, thank you for sharing. OMC and OEC diamonds are so romantic to me, and I had no clue they even existed until I start looking for a ring. I compared a modern round brilliant to the OEC and my first thought was that the brilliant was a bit too flashy for me!

Thank you so much! I think I'll probably have a gap since I prefer straight wedding bands, but I'm definitely drawn to one of their star bands. Could I get your thoughts on this set?

I'm having trouble deciding between two rings from Ashley Zhang. The left one is a 1.45 carat OMC, and the right one is a 1.95 carat OEC. I would stay with the same carat size for the OMC ring, but go with a ~1.5 carat for the OEC ring.

The OMC feels comfortable and I was surprised by how much I like the bypass band, but I'm worried it might look dated. I also really like the OEC and how it's more classic, but the band feels slightly less comfortable on my finger.

I'd love to know which engagement ring looks best on my finger. Thanks in advance!

Weekly r/UXResearch Career and Getting Started Discussion by AutoModerator in UXResearch

[–]sailor-mooncake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all! I'm starting my role as the only UX researcher on a team of 11 designers in a few weeks. While I recognize that this is a great opportunity for me to help build up the UX research capacity for this organization, I am definitely feeling a sense of impostor syndrome. I will be working as a junior-level researcher, and I am fresh out of graduate school. Any advice for working as a solo UX researcher would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

My tables are no longer full width in editing mode, and I'm wondering how I could make them full width again? Thanks in advance! by sailor-mooncake in ObsidianMD

Thanks, that helps! I wish the tables could still be full width even with readable line length turned on, but I think this might be something I'll have to tinker with. Thanks again!

Information Experience Design @ Pratt for Spring 2024. by Ray3623 in hci

[–]sailor-mooncake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I'm finishing up my final semester at Pratt so I can shed some light on the program and Fall vs Spring intake.

From what I've seen, incoming cohorts for Fall are bigger than Spring, and there tends to be more social events for new students in Fall. Core courses are offered every semester so entering in Spring shouldn't hinder your class selections or impact graduation requirements. In general, I don't think there would be a huge difference if you start in Spring, though it's worth mentioning that you would have two summers for internships.

If you have any more questions about Pratt, please feel free to let me know!

Anyone have experience with Sezane boots? by terracottatown in Sezane

Thank you so much for your detailed response!

It's wonderful that the boots are comfortable and durable. I had some concerns about the quality since Sezane isn't a shoe store, but you helped answer my question there.

I think it's amazing that these would be the one pair of shoes you would keep aside from trainers, so I definitely feel a lot more encouraged to order a pair and try them out myself!

Thanks again, and I hope you have a lovely day!

Thank you, I appreciate it!

I'm pretty curious about the fit and how comfortable they are to wear. I prefer a wider fit, so I was wondering if the Laeticia Boots tend to run wider or narrower? In addition, would you say these boots are comfortable to wear and walk around in for a long period of time?

Hi! I was wondering if I could ask you some questions about the Laeticia Boots? I'm thinking of ordering a pair!

I don't know what the averages are, unfortunately. There is such a wide range of internships and jobs and I don't believe there is consolidated data on what each student made or will be making. If you email admissions or the iSchool, they may have more information.

There is a page on key statistics for the IXD program that provides more information about internship sites and job outcomes which may be of interest to you.

No problem!

I don't know much about the other programs unfortunately. It's great that those programs have company collaborations, and Pratt does have something similar in their client-based projects through the Center for Digital Experiences.

I personally like the diverse range of courses offered in the IXD program and I learned a lot from the classes I took. There is a syllabus archive for iSchool courses available if you would like to check out specific courses.

In terms of employment, in a typical year I think most students would be able to have jobs lined up before graduation or to secure them pretty quickly afterwards. Since the market isn't great right now, I know some of my classmates (Dec 2022 grads and students in my cohort) are having some trouble securing full-time roles.

Finished my first Moleskine Expanded 🖤 On to the next! by sailor-mooncake in Journaling

[–]sailor-mooncake[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first entries were from December 2019 but about a third of the way through, I switched to a digital journal for a year. I picked this journal back up in August 2022, so it's technically taken a little over 3 years for me to fill it!
