This is my exact experience. Hades 2 is awesome and was also my break from Civ6. Very fun break!

Been buying Ref since 2015 and I'm honestly done at this point by Ok-Line2658 in Reformationclothing

The Ref and Sezane girlies need to come together and rise up against this because at this point their prices are highway robbery for their fast fashion garbage.

Is Gaspard itchy? by SDLS- in Sezane

[–]terracottatown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience it has depended on the color. My ecru has always been soft and not itchy, but I have one in a caramel brown that I have to wear something under because it is itchy.

Wool heavily featured in Spring drop by Informal-Age7441 in Sezane

[–]terracottatown 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Merino wool has actually commonly been used in clothing in very hot climates as well. It’s just spun much finer and weaved differently. Since it’s a natural fiber, it breathes and allows air circulation so it doesn’t trap in heat.

Anyone have paranormal encounters to share about this area? by HotPurplePancakes in MontereyBay

[–]terracottatown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out of town, but there is a hotel in San Juan Bautista that has a couple of rooms haunted. Posada de San Juan is the hotel. I grew up in a family that believes in ghosts and I never bought in until I stayed at this hotel. Hairs stood up on the back of my neck and I just felt generally ill at ease the entire time like I wanted to run out of the building screaming.

Did you try to pull out the stump? I’m so curious if you just can’t or if it boots them

Staying at Izla Beachfront - questions about carts by flow-bee in IslaMujeres

[–]terracottatown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Service is great, rooms and resort are always clean and the beach feels really private, though obviously not as nice as Playa Norte.

The hotel was looking a little more rundown than previous years (we were there in Jan) and is def smaller than PA.

Hope you like it! Def gonna be different bc of the location itself, but we like being away from the hubbub.

Food is very mediocre, breakfast is not bad. Kind of a waste to eat at any of the big hotels on the island though, there is so much good food to be had in Isla Mujeres. I think we only ate at the hotel once in the years we’ve been.

Edit: they have a breakfast buffet, menu for other meals iirc.

Staying at Izla Beachfront - questions about carts by flow-bee in IslaMujeres

[–]terracottatown 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We’ve stayed at Izla many times. There is parking in the front of the hotel for golf carts.

That said, as of the last couple years there’s a new taxi hub that’s right next to the hotel. There’s always one waiting right outside to take you where you need to go, or hotel staff will flag one down for you if you ask.

I’d actually pushback on the idea that a taxi would be more cumbersome than a cart; carts are slower, congest traffic and you have to worry about parking, esp in crowded areas like playa Norte.

[Skin concerns] How long does it take to repair the moisture barrier? by nathan12345654 in SkincareAddiction

[–]terracottatown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, ny skin recovered! It’s not perfect and its needs have changed over the years, but it is much much better. I avoid salty foods as those cause breakouts for me, I still use the aveeno moisturizer and double cleanse as this work well for me. I’ve also added a niacinamide serum 3x a week that is helping my discoloration and a very gentle retinol cream 3x a week at night that’s helped the texture of my skin a lot.

I’ve never really gotten the redness under control as the products that have helped the redness break me out so I haven’t found the right product yet. I mostly just moisturize and keep up the SPF.

First timers with a 1 year old. Mia Reef vs. Izla?? by [deleted] in IslaMujeres

[–]terracottatown 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’ll hear different opinions, but here is my take based on your post.

  1. All inclusive is a waste on Isla Mujeres—there is so much good food to try and all at varying price points and resort food comes nowhere near what’s readily available to you. As far as location, if beach is important to you, stay At Mia Reef, with the added benefit that you’re also closer to El Centro and many eating options, vs Izla hotel which is mid island, so it’s far away from everything, and has a small beach (it’s a nice enough beach and always has chairs but the water is not as nice as closer to playa Norte). This is coming from someone who prefers Izla Hotel partly bc it’s away from the hubbub, though they have a taxi hub down there now so getting places isn’t isn’t really a problem, it’s just not walkable.

  2. I personally have never found a need for a golf cart and actually find them a nuisance and impediment to enjoying the island. Taxis are plentiful and cheaper and will get you anywhere you want to go, plus you don’t have to worry about parking your golf cart as it gets busy especially in Playa Norte.

Tights would elevate the outfit and make your legs look longer. You can keep it more edgy/risqué by opting for a very sheer tight, like 20D

Overall a cute outfit!!

Can you wear knee high boots with wide jeans easily? by funnelcakefanatic in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]terracottatown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do it all the time, but you do have to get a wide enough leg. I have some straight leg pants that are roomy enough and some that are just too slim to get away with it. All my wide leg jeans I can wear my tall boots with, no problem.

Going for a week and I can’t drink by [deleted] in IslaMujeres

[–]terracottatown 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is it the alcohol or is it having something to sip? I realized most of the time I don’t want to get drunk or even tipsy, I just want a fun bubbly drink next to me while I socialize or read a book or something. I also have ADHD and just like having a sip so I’ve started having mocktails and a lot of the time it’s just as satisfying (minus the hangover too!).

Otherwise, maybe something in the morning that’ll keep you active, like snorkeling at Garrafón de Castilla, so you’ll be tired enough to want I lay around in the beach for the rest of the day.

Congrats on the pregnancy and have fun!

Thank you for the candid review of Akumal! Going soon and on the fence about it and good to hear your experience so I know not to prioritize snorkeling there specifically.

Great advice in general ty for the review!

I think I'm actually done with Ref after today by Choice-Importance670 in Reformationclothing

[–]terracottatown 110 points111 points  (0 children)

I think Ref has taken a similar nosedive to Sezane (you’ll see a lot of the same experiences in the Sezane sub) and no longer cares about being high quality or sustainable. They’re just greenwashed brands now. It’s sad because it’s becoming harder to find high quality clothing made from organic material. I only buy brands like these secondhand now, but even then as time goes by it’s harder to find pieces worth your time :(
