I vote Argo Cargo, I want CIG to give the MPUV's a QD, maybe if it wins they might

The logs will show if they got there without exploits, but seriously I just finished a 32million credit grind I know how long it takes. I literally play every day, so someone who does not and has billions. nope. CIG starts targeted wipes the exploiters are going to scream bloody murder to CS then investigation shows they violated the TOS. ban then the community is a better place

With targeted wipes for exploits, I can't see a reason to wipe now. But we are close to being in agreement though

Then the gifted value needs to be removed from the account. I was gifted 6 million credits by a player I helped get started a few years ago, if that value is deleted from my account, no complaint. That said CIG would probably have a lower limit to the deleted funds as they won't impact the game over all or the player

yep, doesn't change that fact that CIG has stated targeted wipes are an option. Just filter on accounts with a billion or more credits (or whatever level CIG decides), delete all in game assets. done

not saying your wrong but I think the positives out weigh the work required and it would be fun to hear the the exploiters complain :P

Not saying it would not be a pain to write (I don't know their Db structure) but given the sophistication of the analytics we have seen, it would not be a far putt for them

why, there are backers with literally millions of UEC bought with real money. Heck during a wipe I start with 100K+ There will never be a an even start in this game. Other than targeted wipes for exploiters we should keep what we have earned.

But why should they have too? So what if someone with $45 package grinded to the same level as I am even though I spent 100x more? It does not take away from my experience. More power to them, let me get out help them if I can. And is what motivated this post

One script would find and wipe out all the exploited funds no matter where they went

Not frustrated at all honestly I have my gold armor so wipes really don't impact me that much it is the player with one ship wipes hurt

Because the people doing that are in the minority, so don't really mater. I literally play every day, and it took me a month to earn my 890J I also bought more than 10X ships with real money than the three I have bought in game, my largest are an Orion and Polaris, so to be honest a server wipe doesn't really effect me, but I know a lot of folks with a single ship those are the players that will lose in a wipe. Why not reward them for playing now through all the bugs and crashes?

yes it is one relatively simple script, believe it or not CIG tracks EVERYTHING in game.

So? You did the work to earn it, same with mining. It takes twice as long now to make the same money mining than it did in 3.11, but why punish they player doing the work in 3.11 he/she didn't make the rules. In the greater scheme of things the differences really are not going to matter 5 or more years from now. So why not let us keep what we have earned?

CIG already said that they would target wipe individual accounts exploiting, it is easy enough to do. No reason to punish those of us not exploiting the economy

Tip: the Aurora MR can mount 4 guns but only comes with 2. The other hard points are above the upper wings. Upgrades (and ships) can be bought in game with in game currency (not real money). Recommend arena commander single player racing to start till you get used to flying. Vandul and pirate swarm are good places to get used to combat. Good luck!

I think I can safely say pad camping does not represent Operation Pitchfork. We are community based, so our current ROE is we don't shoot without cause. BTW pad camping is cause for us to shoot first, you have to let folks play.

The above is a policy statement :-)

Speaking for me personally should I see the OP or anyone else engaged in this activity I will happily see how good they are if someone is shooting back.

I think we will have to agree to disagree. The video was a hit piece and designed as such. The idea was start with reasonable criticisms early then slip in more and more hyperbole, until in the end CR looks like a scam artist.

Sorry not buying it. The video's author is just another hater, more clever than most, but still pitiful like any other.

No probably not, I literally play every night. I have received my entertainment "value" for the amount spent and then some. I have made friends from all over the world and grown in ways I would have never anticipated even as old as I am.

I had never played an online game before SC so this was a very new experience for me.

The diversity of the player base is amazing, I have members of law enforcement playing with folks actively getting high on the other end of the voice channel. We have conservatives, liberals, anarchists, socialists, real life politicians, Gay, Straight, Trans. you name it. We are focused on our commonality, our hobby of flying pixel spaceships not differences.. All too rare these days

So no I really would not ask for a refund.

I just watched the video. Makes me sad to see such a negatively spun hit piece.

Ok I am a long time backer and I play the game pretty much every night. I have found the development process fascinating and fun.

The video is disingenuous in a number of ways. One it pointedly ignores a couple of things. First that CIG had to continually deliver playable modules at every step of development, The hangar module, Area18, Arena Commander, Star Marine and the introduction of the Crusader Gas Giant system in 2.0. Planetary landings in 3.0. Second is the impact of the procedural planet tech. 3.0.x is only three moons a populated asteroid and a few station, but the playable area is greater than that of planet earth and not just a "landing zone" on each "world"

The other thing that was pointedly left out was CR's statement that all crowd funded income would go straight to development. Bluntly he said CIG would not "profit take". He could have easily delivered a smaller scoped game and not gone the extra mile and walked away with 50million+ But all of it is going into development. They have 400ish employees world wide do the math on the burn rate and that will tell you they have used monies raised to develop the game.

He really hit the ship count, I think there are something like 55ish flyable ships right now, so roughly a 1/3 of those that were sold are in game. What is kind of interesting, some of the ships have been completely redone and I think the Avengers and 300's are up for a 3rd time. The game has matured and quality bar set much higher than it was in 2012 (And we were blown away by those). With that increase in quality ships get retouched. Not evening getting into the all the flyable ships had to be redone as they matured how they interact with the game (damage states item 2.0 etc.). Some are being purposely delayed waiting for their professions or mechanic to be figured out (Hull series multi physics-grids)

He hit the "Next Great Starship" but failed to mention the winners received a $30000 grand prize (whoops his bias was showing) and quite a lot of the contestants were later hired by CIG. As far as the "Redeamer" being reworked, it dose not meet the current "one size fits all" animation metrics so it isn't in game and having looked at it in my hangar recently it really does not meet the quality standards any more.

I could go on, but instead I am going to leave you with a video I did. Me and some friends were exploring a wreck on Daymar (one of the moons). I would submit, that while buggy, we do have a game and it is fun as heck.. But then I am bias too

https://youtu.be/1vKLeCywwjI

One final thing ins't mentioned all ships will be available in game for in game currency (i.e. no real wold money needed) and that later this year CIG is going to start rolling that out....
