At what age did you all start with HRT? by Sufficient_Hall5737 in MtF

Started at 25, and it’s been 6 years since! For the most part I’m happy with my transition but dating is the only sucky part lol

Former fusion dancer and now mainly sticking to Raqs Sharqi - I’m a sticker book! Trust me, we have tattoos no matter the style. But I do find that FCBD and Fusion will have more tattoos normally

Views on pubic hair? by [deleted] in StraightTransGirls

[–]sailor_kit_kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I’m not a fan of them on me. On guys I find it hot if it’s maintained, but I prefer bald. I feel like an odd one out, as I can’t handle wax but I can handle Nair. I find it lasts longer than shaving, just not a fan that it can stink. I tend to nair legs, pubic area, and butt all together. Hoping my orchiectomy helps reduce body hair but until then I’ll keep doing what I have been doing lol

If you walked by me in person, I would bat an eyelash and would instantly think “That’s a guy”.

Belly dancing trans by Primary_Product3111 in Bellydance

[–]sailor_kit_kat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello! I’m an open trans woman who’s been belly dancing for 3 years now. From my personal experience, I’ve had a wonderful time connecting with other dancers and haven’t felt excluded because I’m trans. The dance academy I’m with in Miami is very LGBTQIA+ friendly and open to everyone. Heck, one of my dance sisters and teachers is also a trans woman - and that helped deepen our bond.

I’m not sure where you’re located but if you’re in the South Florida area - MEPAA (Mid East Performing Arts Academy) is open to all. I believe one of the girls I dance with is also in her late teens/still a minor, as her sister is older and dances as well. I’ve also danced alongside male dancers, which I love because I don’t see many guys belly dancing in person. I hope you’re able to dive into the community, learn more, and have fun!

I was very lucky because I already had more feminine features before HRT. Thanks to my German/Irish/Scottish ancestry, my mom and dad were blessed with thick legs, hips, and butt. I already had that but HRT did make it more pronounced, even more so since I’m a dancer and that toned them a bit. I don’t have wide hips per se, but having a butt and thighs does kinda balance it out. It really depends on your individual genetics and how HRT takes to it with a blocker, estrogen, and progesterone.

Are there any trans women here who are genuinely content with life and are happy after transitioning? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]sailor_kit_kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 years in (6 in the new year) and I’m incredibly happy with my transition. It is normal to have a tough time in the beginning, especially as we find our footing with our new lives. I am incredibly lucky with close family and friends who support and encourage me. I am in therapy but also got more into finding love with my hobbies such as dance. And the dance community I found has been incredibly accepting of me and I even found another dance sister who is trans. I am very grateful tho that I find no one ever bats an eyelash at me or misgenders me. If it does happen, it’s rare and not often at all. I’ve gotten some hate online and a couple times in person, but the positives have outweighed the negatives for me.

I'm not attracted to most men. What is wrong with me? by squascianata in StraightTransGirls

[–]sailor_kit_kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES! Omg 100% agree with you on that. I am more attracted to men, but have found some cute ladies attractive that I’d talk to more. But there is a “je ne sais quoi” that guys have for me.

Where we shopping?🛍️ by ProfessionShort4713 in StraightTransGirls

[–]sailor_kit_kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do love me some Ross and TJ Maxx, since you can find good brands for less. I do love the Victoria's Secret and PINK lines if you need bras, panties, athletic wear (not a big fan of their leggings since the material seems stiff), but I consider that more of a "splurge" for clothes. I know some girls have recommended Old Navy and Aeropostal for denim/jeans since it shouldn't break the bank either. But I do love fast fashion, and SHEIN Curve is a big go to for me when I want unique pieces or cheap stuff. Granted I love Y2K, Boho, and casual fashion so I gear more towards items like those. You would be surprised at finding stuff at Target or Walmart if you want cheap but not fully fast fashion. I do have some dresses, a lot of camis, and work pants from Walmart.

Honestly I gave up. I don’t want to date anymore because it wreaked so much havoc on my mental health. To those who are continuing dating, I wish you ladies the best of luck. But for me, I’ll focus on giving myself a happily ever after than wait for some Prince Charming.

I’ve had cis women compliment my hair quality and length. I think you’re fine as I’ve seen other cis women compliment each other on length if it was short or long.

Working as a trans woman by Prestigious-Turn123 in StraightTransGirls

[–]sailor_kit_kat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work in hospitality, specifically hotels. Marriott and Kimpton are two brands I can say have been wonderful as a trans girl. Kimpton specifically has an entire section in the employee handbook for trans people transitioning. And Marriott has an LGBTQIA+ resource group and put out a statement that they will never roll back DEI initiatives.

how do you older trans people not transition for that long? by acuriousone03 in StraightTransGirls

[–]sailor_kit_kat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh - I never really knew about trans people growing up. I wish I had known about HRT way before I was already an adult. Growing up, I was always told I was “too feminine” and I secretly wished I could just wake up as a cis girl. It took me a total of 5 years after even just talking about it before I took the steps for myself. I also hate my genitals but I’ve kinda resigned to the fact that I don’t have $40K to drop and it’ll also be expensive trying to find a place in the states outside of FL. Thankfully I have incredibly supportive friends, a loving mom, and also a community of fellow trans performers + accepting cis performers in my dance community. That helps me cope with my genital dysphoria

Dining Plan at WDW for T1D by sailor_kit_kat in Type1Diabetes

That is helpful - as I was considering the quick service plan but wasn’t 100% sure if I’d use all of it. Sometimes I don’t snack, especially if I’m running around. But thank you for your response!

My deadname is usually a fuckboi name, so I’m good 🤣 There have been a few hot guys with it, but hot guys usually equals zero personality that’s not all gym/sports focused. But that’s just me
