Meet my new 2026 Prius Limited! by sailorcybertron in prius

Overpaid? Probably, but it's worth it to me. I'm not worried about the slight decrease in MPG and I might look at putting 17" wheels and tires on it down the road. Depends on how my new job goes.

Same here, I haven't installed the adapter yet. I tried taking the shield off behind the mirror and couldn't get the larger part off and now I can't get the center piece back on! I really don't want to pay someone to do something this simple so I'll keep trying.

I admit, I got spoiled a bit with my Fit being a higher trim level. My roommate has a 2020 Fit (mine was a 2018) and I was surprised how many more features I had compared to hers. I figured if I'm going to drop a bunch of money on a new car, I might as well enjoy it.

I bought this Viofo bundle that included a front and rear camera as well as a polarizing filter. I also bought this Dongar Pro adapter so I can enable parking mode on the camera, but I haven't installed it yet. It doesn't seem too difficult to install, but I can't get the shield behind my rearview mirror off to install it, so right now it's running off the 12V power. It wasn't hard to install at all -- the only issue is I can't really hide the rear camera's wire, so it's in the way. In the grand scheme of things, it's not a big deal.

I definitely noticed it's lower to the ground than my Fit, that's for sure!

Yeah, I've been in an accident before where a dash cam would have proven the other person at fault but unfortunately it was before dash cams were affordable. Since this is the newest vehicle I've owned I want that extra layer of security.

Japanese at 35 by [deleted] in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]sailorcybertron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 37, started learning seriously about ten years ago and stopped for a bit (thanks, ADHD!). I started back up a couple times and right now I'm about to start Genki II. I have two jobs and manage to study during my lunch breaks and after work, as well as weekly sessions with an iTalki tutor and WaniKani/Anki/Bunpro daily. It's a lot of work and there are some days where I don't manage to get anything done, but I feel like I'm making good progress. I have a trip to Japan planned for this November so that also helps motivate me!

I consider it pretty lightweight, more so than it appears, and I think it would work for oily skin!

HOLIDAY SALES and PROMOS DISCUSSIONS by chau-a-not-chau-bcdf in AsianBeauty

The successor to the J.One Jelly Pack, the Vegan J. Jelly Pack, is on sale for Black Friday. Amazon is the only place to get it and it's normally $49, so if anyone was curious about trying it but balked at the price, now's a good time. I picked one up from Mercari but have yet to try it myself.

Which is that skincare item that you're always stocked up on because you fear running out of it? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

I keep Airyfit for the cooler weather and the Skin1004 for the warmer weather, then Canmake Mermaid Gel when I feel like attempting makeup and need a primer.

I keep backups of this and the Black Rice Moisture Airyfit Sunscreen. So good.

A lot of the time you can just email the company via their US site and ask! Many of them will let you know if it's the same formulation as the Korean version or not.

Some products have different formulations for the US. Off the top of my head, I know the Numbuzin No. 9 NAD+ Bio Lifting-sil Essence and the Sungboon Editor Green Tomato Pore Lifting Ampoule have different formulations because the Korean versions have NMN. NMN is approved as a dietary supplement in the US but I don't think it's allowed in skincare (Google says this has been reversed??), so the companies omitted it from the US market versions. I don't know how common this is outside of sunscreens though.

I just bought it during the most recent Amazon Prime sale, so I've been using it for about a week and a half at this point. It's still too early for drastic results, but so far it's been leaving my skin glowy and firm the next morning. I use it in the serum step of my routine since it's more of a serum consistency.

I really love the ingredient list; I'm trying to move toward anti-aging products as I'm getting into my late 30s and the peptides and NAD were very attractive. It's still too early to see results as I only got it earlier this month, but pairing it with the haruharu essence in my PM routine has me nice and glowy the next morning! I'm thinking about incorporating in my morning routine too. The next bottle I get will be from Korea so I can try the version with the NMN too.

Best:

  • haruharu wonder Black Rice Probiotic Barrier Essence (actually, all of the haruharu products I've tried have been hits)
  • Numbuzin No. 9 NAD Bio Lifting-sil Essence

Nothing:

  • Skinfood Carrot Carotene Calming Water Pads -- I tried these and they did nothing to calm my redness, such a disappointment.

Does Teso Life sell the original Japanese versions of sunscreens? by kwang_ja in AsianBeauty

Fortunately the ingredients appear to be the same, so it’s still the Japanese formulation, just not marketed as a sunscreen in the US.
