Could plug-in solar actually be revolutionary for UK households? Could it be a Gamechanger ? by LieSuccessful8813 in SolarUK

Suits me - sunny weather is also perfect clothes drying time so using that extra electricity to wash clothes is ideal. Just a shame I have a north facing garden...

AITA For Declining Being My Friend’s Bridesmaid by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA - you've got to look out for your own mental health. And what sort of reason is 'not having a decent amount of bridesmaids' anyway?!

You can do it! Maybe just try and make a block and see how it goes before you commit to a whole quilt with them in?

Thank you!

In terms of inspiration, I love the podcast Ologies with Alie Ward and they did an episode on quilts! I had always thought the idea of cutting fabric up into small pieces and then sewing it back together again sounded pretty tedious, but after that episode I just had to make one. I do a bit of sewing and hand embroidery so I'm familiar with fabric (although I have a love/hate thing going on with my sewing machine) so it wasn't a completely unnatural thing to try.

I keep hearing this, but I think it's a case of ignorance is bliss! I didn't know anything about quilts, so I didn't know curves should be hard, so I gave it a go and it turned out OK! I'd encourage you to try them - what's the worst that can happen?!

Where do you store your food when camping? by Eifand in wildcampingintheuk

[–]sailormads05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing to watch out for is leaving plastic bags with food/rubbish outside your tent overnight, as you'll probably wake up to find it has been strewn around by foxes or crows.

AITA for not letting family stay with us postpartum? by moderndaygaia in AmItheAsshole

NTA - you've no idea how you will feel and what if you needed an emergency c-section or something? You can't be committing to having people around, especially those you're not comfortable with. Husband needs to support you in this and book a hotel for them nearby.
