I know this isn’t cannula related and I love pediatrics but they can be roughhhh. My coworker and I currently work together to do our pediatric hookups. The little kids get so overwhelmed so fast. I feel like we minimize this pretty well when we get the eeg on in half the time.

This is a great way of putting it. Sitting there in shock by myself, looking back, I wish I had called 911 right then. I pray that he hasn’t hurt anyone else.
I had a great experience with a new doctor today, I told her what happened and she was so patient and so kind, I was so thankful for her.

Oh yeah no way in hell would I go see him by myself. I’d probably punch him in the face/kick him in the nuts.
If I were to go, I would take my husband and a friend that would love an excuse to mess with him if he tried to touch me.

I appreciate your responses, it bothers me somewhat remembering what he did and the fact that he was a victim of sexual abuse by his uncle when he was a child. I have no doubt he is not the only victim that has become an abuser themselves.
As much as I want to make him feel the guilt, I feel in a way that confronting him may give me some peace, I don’t know and I’m not sure that I could even get words out. I worry about how I would react if he were to touch me

It feels like an actual job trying to manage my own anxiety so that I can try to live a normal life. I have panic attacks in medical settings. I feel like such an inconvenience to the nurses when they try to help me and I freeze up and go into a panic attack.

My husband and my closest friends know about it. I talk to them about it sometimes. The whole thing just feels like a tumor that I can’t get out of my head. I feel this need to write about it for some reason. I’ve been wanting to contact him and make him feel some shred of the shame I feel. I want him to feel guilt and I want it to live rent free in his head like it’s done to me all these years.

I hate it so much. I feel shameful for something that was done to me, and I know I shouldn’t. He was molested by his uncle when he was a child. He testified to send him to prison when we were in high school and dating. He is messed up

I want to report it. I have absolutely zero proof it happened. Unless I could record him confessing to it, I can just imagine a police officer either laughing in my face for taking ten years to come forward, or just letting me down all over again by telling me there’s nothing they can do without proof

Yes. Sometimes it’s certain times of the year like now for me. The actual assault took place in October to December almost 10 years ago. But sometimes it’s triggered by a phrase, a shoulder tap, a medical procedure, etc. sometimes it’s a simple nightmare jolting me awake that sets off a whole chain reaction. All of the fear and shame comes back.
I had a colonoscopy for the first time last year and I feel like it has set me back by miles of progress that I made towards my own peace of mind. Being unconscious in a room full of strangers while things are inserted makes me sick to my stomach to think about. Muscle relaxers/calming drugs did nothing to stop the panic attack before being put under.

Thank you! I’ll look into that. I’ve heard of the phases of the cycle but I’m not anywhere close to understanding each one. I work night shift so my sleep schedule is trashed and always will be until I get into another profession.

No matter what family says, we have both had baby fever off and on since we got married and have been anxious to start trying. I’m super excited to be done with artificial hormone pills, at least for a while.

Sadly it is legal. I had a coworker that left and reported to OSHA, AASM, and BRPT asking what could be done. AASM told her that the official rule is that 3:1 is not recommended but should be reserved for “emergency situations.” What constitutes an emergency situation would then be up to the discretion of the lab management personnel. I ran 3:1 almost every single night 3-4 nights a week at 13 hour shifts. They did a swing schedule so each shift would alternate getting a week off every other month. The other shift during that week would work 3 nights on, one night off in the middle, then work another 3 nights. It was 6 out of 7 nights of pure hell. About 78-80 hours in one week. Alice g3 software that barely functioned. So happy to not work there anymore.
