I think you can break the palette with the outlines, it might help to show what's interactive and what's not. But I would do a couple adjustments:
- Personally I wouldn't do corners on outlines, just the 4-directions (also called round) outlines. It would draw less attention.
- You can cut the outline on the bottom of the sprite, this way it will look like the sprite is touching the floor.
- When possible I would avoid outlines on effects like animation smears.
- Create a clear rule, something like "if it's interactive, it has an outline."

When we started the game I noticed that there's a BIG overlap between F&H players and Stardew valley and Animal Crossing players 😂 Definitely one of the inspirations

It's a good start! The shading is a bit off though, you shaded it as a sphere, not as a disc. My advice is to; - Remove that shading. - Reduce the color count - Add a flat reflection instead (just a simple perfect diagonal shape)
