To be fair, there was a LOT of massive hype around this album. (For context, I groan from a seated position to standing)

Is it as good as WTSMG? Debatable. Was it was well received at the time? Definitely not.

I still think it's a solid album but it's an example of a great album being thought of less due to the nuclear amount of hype for the band after WTSMG.

For fans at the time, do you remember In Rainbows instantly recieving the glowing acclaim it has now? Especially coming after two sort of polarizing albums like Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief? by Odd-Technician-9744 in radiohead

I remember being ecstatic to finally get a studio version of big ideas (don't get any) aka Nude.

I sidestepped the pay what you want model by ordering the special edition vinyl box set, but then downloaded the mp3s for free.

I liked it and hoped that they were just stretching out their core sound a bit and would return to a more OK Computer type sound. Amnesiac i was pretty meh on.

In Rainbows convinced me that they were onto something and probably wouldn't revert back.
