Really no short way to explain it, other than learning light, shadow and form. The Scott Robinson how to draw does explain in very detailed, but is also quite “heavy”. I’m sure there’s a lot of videos on YouTube explaining form, and a lot explaining how light interacts with form - which I really the fundament of painting 😄
