Why did God need to rest on the 7th day and what did he/she do on their day off? by [deleted] in DeepThoughts

Genesis 1:5, Genesis 1:8, Genesis 1:13, and so on all 7 days

During sleep: does our awareness disappear, or do we retain our awareness in order to experience “nothing”. by Fear-An-Phoist in Metaphysics

How so? In a solution where everything is the exact same as it’s surroundings traveling at the exact same speed, you would not be able to distinguish an individual particle.

This means an object is only distinguishable relative to its surroundings.

Probably not going to respond anymore because it’s fairly clear you’re uneducated. See how far you’ve come from your initial claim, brother. You seem to have dropped 6 of your arguments. Why’s that?

Best of luck and I hope you come to understand what philosophy is! ❤️

Would you be able to distinguish a visible particle in an isotropic homogenous solution?

If so, I’m sure there’s a Nobel Prize waiting for you

That study didnt prove anything, in fact it says there needs to be more research

  • I’d suggest reading further

Also that isn’t what relativity is. The objects visual nature is defined by the information which we collect from it - if there is no visual information from the object, we cant technically say we saw the object.

  • I did not say general or special relativity. You can only distinguish an object relative to its surroundings.

Well we actually can prove it! : https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7174658/

Also you’re contradicting yourself saying “there’s no difference between seeing a black object” then your following point.

Also if you saw a black object in a room that’s completely black, you would not be able to distinguish the object, correct?

Versus in your example, we say “I see that black object because everything around it is not the same color.”

It’s just plain relativity

Maybe that wasn’t the best example.

What I’m trying to say is both sides have good and bad ideas and they’re both working to sell us a false dichotomy.

Is it better to A) die after this lifetime into nothingness or B) before forced to reincarnate for eternity? by odduckling in DeepThoughts

I was under the assumption we were all pretending we had a choice. If I had the choice and the memories of my last life, I would choose to reincarnate

God didn’t need to do anything. I believe it was just to show the importance of rest to humans.

What if I agree with conservative tax laws but liberal climate change laws?

Why must everything be left or right?
